Hideo Kojima’s been eager to spotlight underground artists like Low Roar and Apocalyptica with Death Stranding’s various trailers over the years, and it looks like he’s been given the opportunity to collaborate with both Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sonic Music Entertainment on a full-length album for the game.
Writing on the PlayStation Blog, global brand manager David Bull explained that Death Stranding: Timefall will be a compilation record featuring all-new, original music inspired by the game. More will be revealed in the lead up to launch, but if you pre-order one of the special editions, then you’ll get a digital version of the album to download.
Interestingly, the platform holder said recently that it wants to collaborate more with its music division in order to license original music for its first-party games. Looks like this is an example of that ambition coming to fruition. Do you like the idea? What kind of artists do you think would fit Death Stranding well? Keep coming in the comments section below.

Guess this confirms the whole thing, Death Stranding IS A PS4 EXCLUSIVE
@SlimDrizzyLamar I was on the fence for a while, seeing as it didnt have that "only on Playstation" thing on the trailer, but after digging around for a bit and seeing all the heavy licensing sony is doing, my doubts just faded away
This is such a good idea, one of the highlights of RDR2 for me was the original music and I hope to see more games that do the same.
@Amplified it has been confirmed for a while now. ever since kojima went with the decima engine, we know it was never hitting pc.
Haven't seen Sony do this since the God of War 3 Blood and Metal album, that was mostly pretty good stuff so I look forward to this as well!
Hope we get some 80's themed tracks to it.
