MediEvil was the centrepiece of the latest State of Play livestream, and Sir Daniel Fortesque did not disappoint with a brand new story trailer that shows off the original PS1 experience in all its glory with completely remade graphics, along with a release date of 25th October.
You've got a good minute's worth of gameplay to glean through in the trailer above that shows off multiple different environments, attacks, and enemies. It's looking pretty damn good if we do say so ourselves - a faithful remake that honours its origins.
Will you be teaming up with Sir Dan this Halloween? Knight yourself in the comments below.

Looking better. Seems like they've kept the tone of the original as well.
Why does the games frame rate seem so choppy? Looks odd! I thought the same when it was first shown too. Might just be me.

You know I would love to See Sony and Tim burton Make a Movie Out of Medievil
@Areus If you have a Vita you can buy the PSP remake of the original PS1 game . Pretty fun in my opinion.
@kyleforrester87 it's not you. It looks a little janky and rough around the edges. Let's hope they have time to polish this up
@oatmealwarrior92 I didn't like That Version Very much They changed to much
@Areus fair point
@oatmealwarrior92 The Music Was Good Though
I noticed the choppy framerate too. What's this supposed to run at? 30 or 60?
@RBMango Sounds like frame-pacing issues all over again, who developed this? Fromsoft Lol
Looks good, but I agree with Sammy during the stream. Looks a little rough around the edges, but the game isn't out until October so it has a lot of time in the oven.
@Amplified @RBMango @zimbogamer
Sorry what choppy framerate?
I don't understand the nostalgia for this one...
I'm not nostalgic for the original because I never played it. I did like what I played of Medievil Resurrection on the PSP so I'm keeping tabs on this. Doesn't seem like anything phenomenal but if it's like the PSP game it'll be some good, mindless fun and sometimes that's all that's needed.
Looks rough around the edges. Hopefully they can neaten the game up in time for release.
Looked like the PS1 version(graphics) in some places Did play the Demo beck in the day and it was ok. Not sure if I am hyped about it tho. More hyped about Crash Team Racing Might give a go tho when it goes on sale
Wasn't a PS1 guy so have no love or affinity with this game or Crash or Spyro or any of the 'classics' so not interested personally.
Not trying to be one of those people but we already had a remake of this game, can we get an actual sequel to Medievil 2 now?
I do hope the development team can polish it up further. I agree with others here, it looks a bit on the rough side. Nonetheless, Iβm still excited for the game. The originalβs a classic. Hereβs hoping the technical issues can get resolved before Halloween rolls around.
