Update: As revealed by the iOS 13 patch notes, full DualShock 4 support will be coming to iOS as well. You can learn more through here.
It’s a brave new world at the minute, isn’t it? Stop and drink it in for a second: there’s going to be cross-platform support in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, bitter rivals Sony and Microsoft have signed some kind of collaboration arrangement, and now Apple TV is adding support for the PlayStation 4’s iconic DualShock 4 controller.
The tech giant made the announcement at its WWDC 2019 event, with the support coming as part of an impending tvOS update. It foreshadows the impending Apple Arcade service, which is a kind of PlayStation Plus-inspired subscription that aims to bring over 100 new and exclusive games to various Apple devices.
It’ll be interesting to see if the DualShock 4 will be compatible with other iOS devices, as that would be a godsend for Remote Play moving forwards.

@Natureone Do you have a direct link for this? I've only seen the news relating to Apple TV so far. Would like to update the story.
Thanks!
I just want that controller, where can I get one?
I have an Apple TV on the bedroom TV. It would be cool to get in app to stream from my Pro to the Apple TV.

For sure

I have an Apple TV and a DS4 but i’ve got no idea why I would use these things together. All those Apple TV exclusive games???
@Natureone Thank you!
If mobile games start actively taking advantage of physical controller support, I might actually start taking them a little bit seriously.
A little bit.
My only concern--how easy will it be to set this up in a living room that also has a PS4? I'm guessing I'd have to have two controllers--one for each--otherwise I'd have to repair the controller each time I wanted to use the other device?
This is fantastic news, I'd been debating picking up an 8bitdo pad for ages now to go with a tablet/phone but using my existing DS4 would be even better! Still using Android at the minute but been thinking about buying an iPad at some point and this is deifnitely an extra incentive.
@Wesker I use my Apple TV as a steamlink device and stream games from my desktop to my living room.
Oh man that’s great. I was literally just about to drop good cash on controllers so my brother and I could play Monster Hunter Freedom Unite on our iphones.
@Hamurai oh I see. That makes sense.
