Dreams is capable of delivering some shockingly realistic visuals, but its tools are nothing if not diverse. Just browsing through what's available to play, there's a huge range of artistic styles represented, and one fellow in particular is wrangling with the angular, low-poly aesthetic of PSone games.
Dreams user Bearskopff, aka Bearly Regal, previously impressed us with this Dreams recreation of the original Metal Gear Solid, a level of which you can play right now within the PlayStation 4 exclusive. For his latest project, Death Stranding has been given a dramatic makeover as a PSone title, and it's pretty great. Unfortunately it isn't currently playable within Dreams, but you can watch it in action in the above video, and the results speak for themselves.
It's always fun to see modern games given an old school demake, and Dreams facilitates that idea nicely. What do you think of Death Stranding's PSone demotion? Get nostalgic in the comments below.

Woah, Dreams impresses me each time I see it. I love the old school walking, very Resident Evil.
"and the results speak for themselves"
They sure do
He should have given the character those gawd awful RE tank controls where you can only move in 4 directions, that would have really made it seem like a PS1 game.
Was this actually made in Dreams?
@rjejr nothing wrong with tank controls
@AdamNovice I think the video has some non-Dreams elements, like the PSone bootup screen I think is the real deal, but the game footage is Dreams.
@kyleforrester87 gawd I hate them so much. If companies wanted to make money off of me all games would come standard w/ tank controls and you'd pay to upgrade to real normal controls.
Actually I would have quit gaming at the start and found something else to do.
Gotta love the FF7 menu sounds
I love this. The problem I have with dreams (which is amazing BTW) is that overall controls and features are explained in the play along videos really well actually - but the intricacies of how to program or how to accurately place sculptures are glossed over to say the least. So if you already have programming knowledge or 3d modelling knowledge on a computer you are on to a winner - without it you are messing around in the dark with no resources to check.
I presume that's why most of the Pushsquare crew who have bought it are all struggling to make our dreams come alive. I spent 3 hours last night making 2 buttons lol.
@Quintumply that startup screen and the ladder effect are made by other dreamers within the game. There's a resident evil door scene you can mess around with which is pretty cool and see how that works.
The only thing that's missing is the PlayStation's infamous texture warping and visible polygon breakup seams.
I have to admit that was pretty dang cool and that soundtrack was awesome. It went with the atmosphere perfectly and actually made me want to play this lol
Very impressive, I love seeing these sort of creations.
