This is so surreal, folks. We’ve waited almost two decades for the successor to Shenmue II, and it’s finally right around the corner. Yes, the long-anticipated Shenmue III may have incurred a small delay this week, but all-new footage taken from a PlayStation 4 demo pod in a Walmart store looks every inch the successor we’ve dreamed of for years.
The clip showcases some cut-scenes, combat, returning characters, and even a few minigames. Frankly, it’s bizarre seeing stoic hero Ryo Hazuki assume his position in a forklift once more, but it’s good to know that the character will be able to partake in some all-new activities as well – like, er, whack-a-mole. The sequel will be on show at E3 2019 next week, and we simply can’t wait to see more.

Glorious.
Beautiful. I can't wait.
I'm happy for you guys but I don't get it. Just not my cup of tea I guess.
looks pretty I can excuse the somewhat wooden facial animations as 'budget'
hopefully fighting combat better not like Yakuza games
Nothing beats forklift races
Shenmue has legimately been my favourite gaming experience of the year (I know, I know... I've been trying to play them since the DC days but fate was never on my side) so I'm very hyped for this!!!
@TheLastOfUs2 coming from shenmue to Yakuza I didn't like the battle system either, but after playing through the entire Yakuza series I must say that it has a much better combat system than shenmue. Both series are great though.
Wow, there's some seirous improvement there from the previous trailers, really liking the look of this now! I know it's still very retro but it finally looks like a modern version of the old art style, which is how it should look, IMO.
