Remember Wargroove? It's a retro turn based strategy game that launched on other platforms all the way back in February. A tentative release on PlayStation 4 has been "coming soon" for months now, but there's been almost no news on what's happening with the port to Sony's machine.
Earlier in the year, concerns over cross-console play seemed to factor into the delay. The CEO of Chucklefish, the team behind the title, claimed their efforts to implement the feature for the PS4 version were snubbed by Sony. Whether there's any truth to that, we don't know, but it's as close to a reason we have for the extended development time on the port.
Today, the official Wargroove Twitter account passed a brief comment on the state of the PS4 version of the game. Responding to a PlayStation user enquiring about the PS4 port, the dev team said the following:
So, there it is. The PS4 version of Wargroove is still coming, and it sounds like it's not too far away. Will it feature cross-play with the other platforms? We'll have to wait and see.

I played it on Xbox One with my son and had alot of fun with it, but it's not a game I would double dip for.
The fact they've held this back just because they couldn't implement Cross-play up easily with other platforms means I've pretty much lost interest in it now, would've been day one initially but oh well.
I'm more interested in ipad/iphone port now, already have bloodstained, days gone, and a lot of other games to play on my ps4. Maybe I'm interested on getting it if I can import my save file from switch to ps4 (cross-save).
Loved this game on Switch, just makes sense for it to be portable. Will pass on PS4 version.
