Metal Gear auteur Hideo Kojima is taking a break from posing in his ostentatious hallway, and is now opting to share off-screen photographs of Death Stranding on his social media pages. All of the shots have a common theme: they show protagonist Sam – played by The Walking Dead star Norman Reedus – resting in the wilderness.
While the images don’t really reveal much of anything, we at least now know that you’ll be able to rest when out in the field – and even go to sleep. Presumably this will have an impact on the main character’s health and stamina. Hopefully we learn more about the PlayStation 4 exclusive’s general gameplay loop soon.

Kind of looks like Red Dead 2, if it was set 50 years into the future, and halfway up Scafell Pike
you can see the hud in the first pic
Hardcore walking simulator. I’m digging it.
Not going to lie, I'm happy for everyone hyped for this, but the more I see, the more I'm thinking that this game isn't for me. I really enjoyed MGS 1-4 due to their linear nature, but I haven't been a fan of open world games for a while.
I'm getting shadow of the collosus vibe from the environment, maybe the gameplay loop is like mgsv with less enemy mixed with sotc like traversal.
Looks like Nicky Wire from the Manics in that first pic.
Love the Gojira silhouette lol
I'm kinda afraid cause we keep seeing the same area over and over again. How large is this map?
@ApostateMage If You Tolerate This Your Bridge Baby Will Be Next
@Gremio108 Haha. Ace.
@NinjaWaddleDee I'm kind of the same way.
@Athrum My thought as well. Just the same baren area. The world isnt exciting me yet.
Is that godzilla?
@Frigate That must have been a pretty fun childhood! I mean, so long as you were into climbing rocks/trees etc
I look at my mail box everyday hoping this game will be in there.
@Amppari thats the controller reflecting off the screen
@NinjaWaddleDee I respect that. I gotta be honest, 4 is my favorite because of its linearity and movielike structure. However, I still find myself enjoying 5 a lot.
@Athrum I imagine the place you're talking about is the area with the black oily stuff everywhere. I think that's more like "The Dark World" in Zelda, where the whole map is changed.
I also imagine Kojima's only showing us the first area, like he did with MGS5 prior to release.
@Totaldude911 No I actually meant the green hills/rocky zone that you see in every trailer/screenshot he sends.
I believe this game will have a smaller scope than people think, there's no way he can dish out a game in 3 years.
@Athrum You've raised an interesting point. I may be mistaken, but I thought I saw a city in one of the early trailers? The one with the tunnel sequence. I wonder why we haven't seen more of that.
