It's been a while since we learned Bugbear Entertainment's Wreckfest would be making the jump to PlayStation 4. Announced all the way back when THQ Nordic acquired the studio and its IP, we've been waiting to hear news of when the crash-happy racer would arrive on Sony's console. Today, the publisher has finally given us a firm release date.
You'll be causing all kinds of metallic mayhem in Wreckfest when it launches onto PS4 on 27th August 2019. However, if you pre-order the digital deluxe edition, you'll gain access 24 hours early.
This physics-heavy racing game is all about destruction, as you race bangers around and smash into your opponents to take them down. The developer's previous work includes the likes of FlatOut, so you know roughly what to expect.

Fantastic! I actually pre-ordered this in March 2017 so have been waiting a long time for this Destruction Derby itch to be scratched.
I play on buying it day 1.
This game is very much like the old Destruction Derby. Can’t wait to play it, it was supposed to come out last November.
@DuncanIdaho love DD when I was a kid and I thought the same. Looking forward to this very much. Probably not a launch day purchase but I'm sure it'll be half off by the holidays and will scoop it up then!
Yes! Been waiting ages for a release date and hope it lives up to my expectations after the madness I’ve watched on YouTube
Really looking forward to this and eager to see how it runs on PS4.
I played this on my mates PC, feels like a modern and much improved Destruction Derby. Had it on pre order for a long time so its good to have a release date finally. Looking forward to it.
I WIll be buying this one
This looks like tremendous fun. I may not be snagging it on day one, but I definitely plan on picking it up before the year’s out.
If this is like Flat Out 2, I'm totally sold on it especially if it also has killer soundtrack like FO2.
