Ever since leaving Microsoft's first-party line-up, Bungie has been committed to the multi-platform world of Destiny. It entered the looter shooter genre in partnership with Activision, but since splitting ties with the publisher, the team has been talking a big game in regards to its current sci-fi franchise and what the future holds for the developer. Now, Bungie CEO Pete Parsons has stated that the studio plans on launching another new IP by the year 2025.
Speaking with IGN, Parsons said: “I think the long-term vision of Bungie would be, we have worlds like Destiny that are great places to go and build friendships in. And we begin to introduce new worlds that people care a lot about.” He goes on to say that Bungie has a specific path it wants to go down in regards to transforming the Destiny series and making sure it has other franchises available on the market.
This is all supposed to be achieved within the next six years, with Pete Parsons saying "Our vision ultimately through 2025 is to become one of the world’s best entertainment companies." The new IP could be developed with the help of NetEase, who purchased a $100 million minority stake in Bungie in early 2018. We'll probably all be playing on our PS5 Pros by the time it rolls around, but consider us interested in what this brand new series could be.

Whoa steady on there fellas, that'll be 3 new games in 20 years if you do that. Seriously though these guys are talented, there has been plenty of missteps with Destiny in particular but there's no denying the core fundamentals of both that and Halo, a game which revolutionised the console fps genre with its influence still felt heavily today.
Would be interested to see them do a story driven single-player game. I played a fair amount of the first Destiny and their gameplay mechanics and design are excellent, they just need to get a quality writer.
Hopefully they might do this to have something different to Destiny.
@carlos82 it says new IP theoretically they can work on a smaller projects already related to property they already own like Destiny and release them before the release of this new IP
after Destiny i will be very cautious about future Bungie titles, the days of knowing that buying a Bungie game meant you was getting a great game are over
That's good to hear! Really looking forward to the expansion tomorrow. They really have brought D2 up from the ashes and vits a phenomenal experience now. Can't wait to see what Bungie does next!
Meh. They've yet to produce anything which I'd consider great.
Sure, Halo blah blah blah... but I had the first 2 games on Xbox and never finished either as they bored me. Destiny... just more meh.
Yeah, I know some people idolise them, but their output so far hasn't resonated with me at all.
