Can you play Ghost Recon: Breakpoint in single player? Ubisoft's latest open world shooter offers many modes of play, from solo to co-op to PvP, but is playing alone viable? Is Breakpoint meant to be played by yourself, or is it built for co-op? In this quick guide, we'll try to answer these questions.
Can You Play Ghost Recon: Breakpoint Single Player?
Can you play alone in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint? The short answer is yes, you can. You can play through the whole game by yourself if you'd like, and you're never forced to join other players in co-op.
However, some parts of the game are more difficult if you're playing solo. There are optional drone bosses, for example, which are designed to fight against multiple Ghosts. Attacking these alone will be a lot more dangerous. The same can be true of large enemy bases. Taking these bases down in a direct gunfight with its soldiers can be tough if you don't have backup. Picking the right class can help with solo play as well.
Having said all that, the bottom line is that you can absolutely play Ghost Recon: Breakpoint single player, it's just that some situations may present a greater challenge. It's also worth noting that the game has multiple difficulty options. Playing on easy or normal is a good fit for solo play, while hard and very hard can offer a real challenge if you're not careful.

"Having said all that, the bottom line is that you can absolutely play Ghost Recon: Wildlands single-player". Wrong game, chaps. 😉
@Crimson_Ridley That's a very good spot! Thanks.
Guys... do we really need separate 'guide' articles for every single question about a game? I count SEVEN for Breakpoint today; the Classes and Perks, fair enough, it's long enough to warrant a separate article, but the other six are short and could easily have been incorporated into one.
Maybe it's a slow news day, but it still feels incredibly spammy.
I was a bit gutted when I realised there wasn't any ai squad mates but I soon got into the whole lone Ghost idea and understood it from a story perspective...until I got to a cave full of other Ghosts doing stupid emotes.
I have actually really enjoyed the lone wolf aspect of breakpoint. It reminds me of some of the early GR installments I used to play. I wasn't overly impressed with the AI squad in Wildlands, aside from revives they are basically useless. They also took away from the tactfullness of certain situations too at times. That being said, I do like the idea of mating with actual live online squads on certain missions. I think they went in a good direction this game.
