Outlast 2 will be free with PlayStation Plus next week, and it looks like the timing isn’t a coincidence. Red Barrels, the developer of the survival horror series, has posted a cryptic tease on Twitter, showing two holding hands and the words, “Where freedom ends.” It added a caption on social media confirming that an announcement is coming soon.
Given the green hue of the image, it’s likely this is some kind of Outlast 3 – especially given the fact that the series continues to be popular. We weren’t as enamoured with the studio’s sophomore effort, as we felt it was a little try-hard compared to its predecessor. We still enjoy the tension created by the battery-draining night-vision concept, though, so can’t wait to see where the team take it.

I am sensing co-op will be a part of the title.
I cant handle these games its a little too messed up for me. 😆
@GamingFan4Lyf Absolutely.
I did not like Outlast 2, and never actually beat it. I'll make more of an effort now that it's free. Idk what happens there, but maybe this will bring the stories together a bit more.
Whistleblower is still their best project, btw
I hope it's a new IP, because I was extremely dissatisfied with Outlast II.
I guess I’m in te minority that prefers Outlast 2 but I’m definitely down for more!
I kinda like their style even though I haven't enjoyed their games too much. I hope they reach full potential with the new game, whatever it may be.
I need to go back and finish the first one now that we are getting the second free. I really enjoyed the little I played.
I loved number 1 with whistleblower, number 2 wasn't as good, but it's still decent, but for free. Can't complain.
