Update: Blimey, that was quick. The PlayStation Network seems to be coming back online after a short period of downtime. We're able to reconnect on our own PlayStation 4 systems, so it might be worth trying to do so yourselves again. Let's all breath a sigh of relief.
Original story: At the time of writing, the PlayStation Network appears to be down for many users, including ourselves. Reports are coming in across Reddit and Twitter of being unable to either connect to the internet or unable to play the latest online games such as Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
Taking a look at downdetector.co.uk, more than 6300 reports have been made in the past hour of PSN not working correctly. We're unable to connect ourselves, receiving messages such as "PSN is under maintenance" across the board. It comes at a worrying time too, with Ghost Recon: Breakpoint launching today in its early access phase and Destiny 2: Shadowkeep due to come back online in two hours time. All PlayStation Network services are listed as "up and running" on Sony's official website, but that clearly isn't the case right now.
Are you having trouble connecting to PSN? Lets us know in the comments below.

Shawn Layden is gone. The world is going to end. It's a sign people.
Didn't even notice it was down so either I was lucky or it was very brief.
Oh Great I need to update
I was having issues when trying to access the store on my PC, but they appear to be resolved now.
It never went down to me. Been playing GTA Online for past 3 hours.
maybe it was a elephant at pushsquare.com office that was standing on the network cable... lol
PSNotNow hehe
Disgraceful, I am switching to Xbox right now.
Remember when this was a common occurrence? Now it's pretty rare for PSN to be down.
@DerMeister yes i remember it, and the xbox 360 guys was celebrating in the comment section everytime psn did go down, lol
6300 reports out of the millions using the network isn't even a drop in the ocean. It probably wasn't even PSN. More likely some cleaner at a data centre tripped over a power lead and pulled the plug, then stuck it back in and hoped no-one noticed. 🤣
