Sony’s shaping up to sell a lot of consoles this coming Black Friday 2019, as a leaked Walmart ad suggests that the system will be available for less than $150 this holiday. The savings apply to the standard 1TB Slim model, which doesn’t come with any software. Meanwhile, the PS4 Pro will purportedly be available at $299 – which represents a saving of $100 off the MSRP.
Last year the platform holder flogged its console with Marvel’s Spider-Man for $199 and stocks quickly sold out. It’ll be interesting to see how this offer is received: the PS4 is getting a bit long in the tooth these days, but $149 seems like an outrageously low price for such a popular piece of hardware. You should probably expect to brawl if you hope to get your hands on one of these.

It may be a bit long in the tooth but there's a colossal library of games and newer ones that push the system further and further are still being released.
Will more than likely pull in a lot of new users or people wanting to upgrade from standard to Pro.
Until the PS5 breaks cover, it's just vapourware.
Hell a Pro at 300 (maybe with a DL voucher or some PLUS) is worth it even this late in the game
I don't trust that $199 Switch price for the new model in the ad, maybe the old model in the old box. And $150 for Switch Lite seems highly unlikely as well.
I'm going photoshop all the way.
Though I do think those PS4 prices could be legit. They already announced a PS5 w/ backwards compatibility, they can't be expecting to sell too many more PS4 anyway as it's already up near 100m.
And as I've been saying all along - I cant' imagine them selling 3 PS models at one time, PS4, PS4 Pro and PS5, so 1 of them has to go. If they can get the PS4 Pro cheap enough maybe drop the Slim entirely.
While I could absolutely see the ps4 prices being real, there is no part of me that believes Nintendo will go that low on the Switches which makes me dubious of the while thing. The Switch is still on fire sales wise they really wouldn't have to go that low especially with Pokémon releasing right before. I'd be thrilled to be wrong though. I would definitely pick up a few $150 ps4s though! Can't wait to make some $$ this BF!!
I got my ps4 pro in 2017 so im good.man my backlog of games is crazy.plus i got psplus and i got more than 40 games i got unboxed.word up son
Is the Pro attractive to anyone at any price point right now? At this point, if you don't already have a Pro (like me), you're probably going to save the cash for a PS5 (which is what I'm doing), because backwards compatibility.
@NoxAeturnus
Exactly. If you are thinking of upgrading to a pro, might as well wait.
But if you have never gotten a ps4 before, now is as good a time as any with the crapton of games.
I only plan on buying a PS5 in about 2 years so i will use this black friday to stock up on games for $100-200
@Netret0120 Oh yeah, no doubt a cheap PS4 is a good buy even now if someone doesn't have one. It's just the Pro that I'm saying is unattractive.
@NoxAeturnus
Oh i get you now. At $300, might as well wait for a PS5.
At $150, i am tempted to buy a few ps4's and resell them in my home country for a neat profit.
I think the prices are to be expected, though obviously need confirming as real. If they are; what a barg! I got my Pro (and PSVR) thru Black Friday deals. I’m now looking forward to the PS5.
I agree that Sony can’t confuse new potential PS owners by having three machines actively on sale when the PS5 launches. It makes sense to drop the Pro and have PS4 as the budget entry machine and the 5 as the aspirational upgrade.
I’m sure PS4 prices are not as good as they used to be.
I’m not in the US, but I bought my PS4 on Amazon Prime Day in 2017.
My bundle included:
PS4 Slim 500gb
Extra Controller
Overwatch
Crash Trilogy
Final Fantasy 15
I got this all in a bundle for £180. I then bought PS+ for £30.
How on Earth are PS4s and PS+ so much more expensive today when it is nearly the end of the cycle?
Wow, at that price I think I’ll pick up a couple extra to use as bookends.
@Kienda
PS Plus is never going to go down in price (apart from in promotions) it will always go up and offer less value for money
@get2sammyb Update maybe?
