Sony Confirms Next-Gen Console Will Be Called PlayStation 5

I do wonder why they waited this long to make this announcement.

I have been calling it the plastation skive. As when I sneak off work that's what I will be playing.

i mean was there anyone NOT expecting it to be called playstation 5?

the only alternative could have been playstation V but that would have been to confusing with the vr headset and such.

Dammit, I bet my life savings on it being called the PlaystationOne.

Well now I can't buy it. I refuse to buy devices with logical naming. It should have been call PlayStation or PS1.

I was always under the impression that Sony only refer to it as PS when they revise it and the first version is always Playstation? Ie Playstation 4 then ps 4 slim.

They didn't even use a public code name, like project Hydra.

Until it is released, we should still call it by a weird name like "PS4 Pro Pro", "PSS", or "New 3PS One U"

I know its how they have named previous consoles just wish they were more creative with naming it. The project names are always better
