Sony’s always been very humble when it comes to PlayStation Now, keeping it out of the game streaming conversation when it’s still currently the only company on the market with a working solution. That’s changed since the Japanese giant dropped the price, as it’s been promoting the heck out of the subscription, running television commercials – and even utilising stadium ads like this:
As you can see, the PS Now logo is running around the entirety of Genk’s arena, as Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain flicked in an admittedly stunning strike in last night’s Champions League tie. The platform holder’s long had a partnership with the iconic club competition, but this is the first time it’s leveraged the deal to promote its streaming service.
It’s just more evidence of how hard the company’s pushing the initiative at the moment; it’ll be interesting to see what kind of impact this has on overall subscriber numbers.

COYBIG against Lazio tonight!! Fingers crossed Porto beat Rangers too
Reducing the price and allowing you to download PS4 games is smart, since it's inevitable a substantial number of people will give it a go now, based on those 2 factors, and since they already have the sub they'll concede to giving this "streaming" thing a whirl which they hate so much. At which point they'll realise the world hasn't ended, and it's a step further toward softening peoples attitudes.
Two from the Ox from outside the box.
Helps that the PlayStation Now ad appeared as The Ox scored that amazing second goal. That shot will have been shared around the web thousands upon thousands of times by now. That's a lot of additional advertising.
Been using PS Now for about a month now and its great. Works fine on my GPD win 2 connected to 4g at work. Completed God of War on it and now onto Fallout 3. I dont get the time to game at home as much as I did, so use my lunch hour wisely!
Find that in an hour it uses about 2 gig of data which is nothing compared to what Shadow used - about 10gig an hour, although admittedly it was at a higher resolution to Playstation Now
It was a stunning strike great to have the Ox back
@ShogunRok I bet they were delighted when that one flew in.
@ShogunRok Just think how much better it would of been if it was showing if Mane scored off the Firmino rabona Sony wouldnt of had to pay anymore advertising for now for the rest of the season
@bindiana I was devastated that flick didn't result in a goal! Would have been one of the greatest assists of all time.
Awesome. It'll be interesting to see what games they add to it for next month
Tried the 7 day trial, was good at the start but then i couldnt play for more than 5mins without being disconnected :/
@kyleforrester87
Literally described me lol.
I am 100% subscribing during black friday (hoping for $40/year sub).
Have about 6 games as of now that i want to download (PS4) and then i will try stream some PS3 games and see how stable it is and then i will game on my lunchbreaks at work on my PC.
@Timewarp87
How stable is PS Now on PC? Seriously considering gaming on my work PC during lunchbreaks.
@Netret0120 seems ok to me.. uses about 6watts on a gpd win 2, so should be fine on a lappy if they let you install stuff. only thing on laptop is you would need a wired PS4 controller I think
@Timewarp87
Thanks for the quick reply. I forget that most laptops now should run ps3 games just fine. Never played the infamous series so would love to go back and try it.
Afraid of Stadia - advertise in stadium!
Hohoho 89’ minute comeback complete for the Bhoys. Top of the group but have to concede Rangers played well against Porto. Bit grim the Lazio fans cutting about Glasgow City Centre making Nazi salutes as I was trying to get to the train station though. Methinks UEFA will not be too chuffed.
@BridgeToClarity
They did say they would add new games each month. Wouldn't be surprised if days gone joins the service before your sub runs out.
