The patches and updates for Death Stranding have been coming thick and fast ever since its launch last week, and you'll have one more to download when you next boot up your PlayStation 4. Patch 1.05 has arrived, but what it has actually done to the game remains a bit vague.
Weighing in at just over 1GB, the patch notes simply state "Various performance improvements". We assume this update will improve things on the back end -- something that we probably won't be able to easily identify in-game while playing. Still, we'll update this article with more news should anything meaningful be uncovered about the patch.

I love seeing patches! When I actually get the game, it will be the "best" version since launch.
Just saw my first bt last night, that was tense encounter 😃
Also the first journey to the incinerator is kind of sad.
@Arugula Totally agree and the fact the game looks absolutely gorgeous even on my base ps4. only issue I've had is sometimes it puts me to offline mode due to server stability but I've always been able to log back in straight away
But does it improve Sam’s back end too?
I've been playing since launch and its always run pretty much perfectly
@SlimDrizzyLamar That’s true, I’ve had literally no problems since launch. Given that the online infrastructure is breaking new ground, that’s seriously impressive.
Maybe server improvements. It can be a bit unstable, but I can get logged back in instantly.
I've been kicked out of servers a couple of times other than that the game seems flawless. Keep on Keeping on Kojima productions, solid game. No matter what i've heard about Hideo Kojima he's got himself a new fan with this boring walking simulator 😂
Picked up my copy today. I win at life.
Yeah pretty flawless on the pro, funny thing today I tried to outrun bt's on the bike those damn rocks though that made for a very intense 5 minutes. Also love how the story just keeps getting more interesting.
@Neolit This game looks somber and relaxing in the previews video, I was tricked 😂
@Neolit have you noticed how quiet the ps4pro is compared to other graphic heavy games?... i dunno what trick kojima have done, but it works very well for this game that also is very graphic heavy.
I hope they can fix this. He's always falling down even if he's not carrying anything
@wiiware true, really enjoying the game , the atmosphere It's amazing!
@TheBuzz I believe that's the engine they used on horizon zero Dawn!
@jrpgdude - I'm 30 hours in, thousands of kilos delivered and my ingame stats show I've fallen twice. You are clearly doing something wrong to be falling without carrying anything. How does that even happen?
I don't know, it could be when I go down a cliff or maybe a steep slope it just I hate to see the guy get hurt
@jrpgdude - Right, maybe you missed it in the tutorials but holding L2 and R2 together makes it almost impossible to fall over, even with skyscraper loads. Especially useful for downhill sections. Keep on keeping on!
Just hold both triggers to stop him falling when going down hill. I was playing this last night on my pro and the cut scene frame rate was really really bad. Just looked really jumpy/stuttery, game play was fine but was very immersion breaking??? Strange as I didn't really notice this the first time I started the game. I restarted as I hadn't really been taking it all in first time. Gunna try again later???
@Rick_Deckard yes indeed
@Neolit the animation is top notch but for me the biggest thing is how the world is constantly evolving as we're all playing it. I don't just mean the structures everyone are building to help one another either, every time I turn it on I see new natural paths forming as people are out walking over the same patches of land and staring in amazement as you can trace where others have headed off on their own adventures and each time I fell less isolated then before
I'd love to know how different this aspect is, if at all from when people were reviewing it as clearly more people are playing now. Maybe if @LiamCroft is still playing he could give is an idea
@carlos82 I haven't played the game since last weekend but I remember there not being too many more structures in my game compared to before launch.
I think there's only so many player-made objects the game will place in your game before it reaches a cap. But then I'm not certain on that!
@LiamCroft yeah it wasn't so much the structures but these natural pathways like dirt tracks that seem to be forming certainly in the early areas. Every time I log on there seems to be an increase in how far they are stretching across the land.
Thanks for the response
@carlos82 I'll have to check them out next time I boot the game up.
@Rick_Deckard yeah no doubt @wiiware spoiler tags are easy to use....And fun! 😃
america hate this game cuz asian made it if he was white they will love it
