Former Ghostwire Tokyo director Ikumi Nakamura is most certainly taking her time deciding where she'll develop video games next, isn't she? After leaving Tango Gameworks, she has been on a bit of a world tour visiting numerous studios far and wide, but the destination she seems to keep coming back to is Sony. The PlayStation community wants her to join the Japanese giant, and further evidence would suggest that could be about to happen.
Eager beavers on Twitter have uncovered two interesting facts. Firstly, the newly-appointed head of PlayStation's Worldwide Studios, Hermen Hulst, very recently followed Nakamura on the social media website. And second of all, she tweeted a birthday wish to a Sony Santa Monica employee along with the comment: "See you again next month!" This tweet doesn't seem to be a joke like she has been known for, as the earnest response Nakamura receives is clearly genuine.
So, Hermen Hulst now follows Ikumi Nakamura and she'll once again be visiting the God of War developer in December. Is she joining Sony? We certainly hope so. Come on Hulst, get that Forbidden Siren reboot in production for PlayStation 5. Do you hope Ikumi Nakamura joins Sony? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

She's so cute! I hope she joins Sony, if only soley based on that. Haha
I wonder what happened to make her leave TangoGW?
If she's decided to join Sony then good on her, she obviously got on well with literally every studio head/lead developer she met during her whirlwind tour... especially Cory Barlog
Wish her luck wherever she ends up - Ghostwire Tokyo looked awesome from the trailers so she's clearly very talented. Really hope that game doesn't get cancelled now though, it looked really promising!
Could her joining Sony be announced at the PlayStation Awards on December 3rd?
@Turismo4GT I'd be surprised. That has traditionally not been the place for announcements.
@LiamCroft True, but not every PlayStation Awards falls on their 25th Anniversary
@MadAussieBloke don't do that. Don't give me hope.
I hope so, she can be a part of sony japan studios, developing new siren or new horror ip
I prefer new ip though, action horror like resident evil or dead space series rather than hiding from enemies type of game like outlast series.
She made a funny/cute e3 presentation, and she should join sony based on that??
Her character designs are absolutely amazing. I really hope they make her art director on a horror game.
Mr Reeves aside she was the best thing about a fairly rubbish E3 this year, i'm guessing she's good at her job so i hope all the best for her with Sony.
Let's hope she finally joins something and starts making games instead of making cringy stuff on social media. :S
If she joins Sony , would they open a new studio for her?
Doesn't seem like strong enough evidence yet, but I can imagine she would be very well suited for Sony.
@Amppari - She worked on Okami when she was at Clover Studio as well as Bayonetta with Platinum Games. She's also worked on a bunch of Street Fighter games and Evil Within. The woman has done some seriously good work in the industry.
@3MonthBeef It's almost as if many western gamer guys haven't even met a Japanese woman, then suddenly freaked out over a bubbly one on stage.
I liked her work without even realizing who she was. Her stage event was memorable, but alas, clearly she struck the right cord with the insiders, not just forum rando's.
