Looks like Square Enix has received its PlayStation 5 devkits, as the company’s First Development Division is currently busy beavering away on a new intellectual property for console. The studio – which is also behind the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake – claims that it’s working with an “international team of creators” to realise a “next-generation action game experience that goes beyond the framework of existing action games”.
Our guess is that this is still early in development so we probably won’t see it for a while – and that’s assuming that the project gets off the ground at all. It’s hard to speculate about the nature of the title with so little to go on, but we’re always excited by new ideas.

Whatever happened to that Babylon's Fall game they were supposed to be making with Platinum Games?
Another nier like game would be appreciated
@GKO900 Without Platinum on board it really wouldn't be good. Of course, they might well be but their gameplay combined with Squeenix's plot makes Nier Automata the gem it is.
Must be a new Mindjack!
Next-gen! woo-hoo! If the ps4 era is any indication, we'll be talking about ps5 games as next generation games at least until 2023.
It's going to be a running simulator with a lot of trailers that don't make sense.
@nessisonett I would say Yoko Taro is more important then Platinum. Most people talked about the story then the game's combat.
But which next generation?
@NoxAeturnus
My thoughts exactly lol.
Knowing Square-Enix, will we even seen FF16 on PS5 lol
