We're sure you've heard about Free Guy by now. It's a fresh effort from 20th Century Fox to make a decent movie about video games, and hey, maybe it'll work this time. It stars Ryan Reynolds as a no-name NPC in what seems to be an online, open-world game akin to GTA Online. The story gets going when he discovers his life is a fabrication, and he decides to go off the rails to fight back.

Reynolds is also credited as producer on the flick, while Shawn Levy steps into the director role. Alongside the Deadpool actor will be co-stars Jodie Comer, Joe Keery, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Taika Waititi. The film is looking absolutely mad, and probably won't be more than a cheesy summer popcorn distraction. Still, it should provide a fun couple of hours when it hits theatres in July 2020.
