Sonic the Hedgehog is a big movie due out on 14th February, so of course it’s getting a Super Bowl commercial. As the Kansas City Chiefs dismantle San Francisco’s deadly defence, you’ll be able to catch a glimpse New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas and Carolina Panthers running back Christian McCaffrey in a new live action commercial for the flick.

The concept is that both players – alongside Olympic sprinter Allyson Felix and NASCAR driver Kyle Busch – move really fast, but they all learned their chops from SEGA’s blue blur. There’s some wordplay in the ad, such as references to “rings”, and it’s all generally well executed. In fact, we’re starting to think this film will be a hit.
