The PlayStation 4 version of Hunt: Showdown really has been a long time coming. Announced for Sony's console back in June 2019, it has spent a number of years in early access on PC where it harboured a community in love with the tense co-op dealings of having to track down monsters using clues while watching your back for other players. We've only heard good things, and luckily, we'll be able to experience it for ourselves when it arrives on PS4 next month on 18th February.

Koch Media has jumped on board to help publish the project on consoles as the game arrives both digitally on the PlayStation Store and physically. Crytek CEO, Avni Yerli, said: "While we focus on development, Koch will apply their immense digital and retail publishing expertise to the title, supporting the game's continued growth. We can't wait to see what PlayStation players think of the game, and to continue to bring new content to all our players in the coming year."

Hunt: Showdown is primarily a PvPvE experience at the time of writing, but the developer states that after the console launch and update 1.2, it plans on introducing cross-play between Xbox One and PS4 players, a dedicated PvE mode, live events, more customisation, and even a new map. We can't wait to get our hands on the game, but it sounds like Hunt: Showdown's arrival on PS4 really is just the beginning.
