Fallout 76 is finally getting its Wastelanders update in April, Bethesda has announced. Billed as the game's biggest ever content drop, Wastelanders was originally set to launch in the autumn of 2019, but it was pushed into 2020 after a lengthy period of silence on the subject. The update primarily adds non-playable characters to the open world title, as well as loads of new quests.
Now aiming to release on the 7th April, the hope is that Wastelanders revitalises Bethesda's struggling RPG. You can catch a brief glimpse of the update in the trailer that we've embedded above. More information is probably heading our way very soon.
Dare we ask if you're still playing Fallout 76? Could Wastelanders tempt you to return? Watch out for ghouls in the comments section below.

Maybe this will get me back into it. Just need the level up trophy’s to get platinum, but couldn’t bring myself to just grind.
100% going to give it another go. Been waiting for this update since it was announced!
Let's hope it truly is a "new beginning."
No doubt it'll come with it's own bugs that breaks the game. Their own subscription features had bugs so I doubt the free updates won't be.
maybe just... fix the game instead..
Wait, what?! They haven't added NPCs yet?!
I remember quite a lot of people were pretty pissed off about their absence from day one, I thought they had added them ages ago...
It seems a pretty essential gameplay feature to me, but then again, why am I surprised, the game not being broken is a pretty essential feature too, but from what I hear, they haven't gotten around to that yet either
@DanM I remember people hacking the game and adding NPCs in, but that was around a year ago or so. I heard there's still a ton of problems with the game, but I don't know if they're going to fix those. Even the 2018 re-releases of Skyrim had the same bugs the original game had. Bethesda don't give a crap.
@DanM That's a popular misconception. Fallout 76 has NPCs; they're just limited to being robots or friendly monsters. So instead of a human NPC running up to you and asking you to help them deliver the mail, a damaged Mr. Messenger robot floats over instead and asks you to do the same thing. It mostly works, but based on Bethesda's track record, there's bound to be massive issues even if the PC test goes well.
Does this game actually play decently now?
U did not like 76 but I'll deffanitly try wastlanders dlc maby it will be good enough to cover the 60 I spent on 76 and bring back fath in the game ya I know iv got vary high hops but I can dream cant I
I just hope this is stand alone dlc and we dont have to be a certain lev or anything if so I plan to restart game and play only this
So this should have been the real release date.
@QualityGeezer No. I've been playing since launch on a Pro and I get a crash/freeze roughly every 2 hours of gameplay. The game also has a lot of loading issues. For example, I can have my guy sprint for 30 seconds and he'll often reach a spot before everything (textures, NPCs, world objects, etc) fully loads. It's great for running through locked doors and other barricades (I use this trick sometimes to get inside locked player camps) but not so great when you accidentally blunder into a group of enemies.
All this work on it. They could of just released a sequel to Fallout 4
@potter32 you can dream but you can’t spell
