We're huge fans of Dreams here at Push Square Towers, but it's difficult to define what this PlayStation 4 exclusive is. With the possibilities almost limitless, the variety of experiences available within this title is ridiculous. There's no way everyone will have time to play everything.
If you're simply looking for some of the best stuff to play in Dreams, you've come to the right place. In this feature, we're going to pick out some of our favourite creations, be they games or otherwise. While we're on the subject, you should follow Push Square Picks, our collection which holds all the below examples and plenty more. We've been updating it every now and again with new discoveries and will continue to do so. Be sure to check it out if you want to see what's impressed us.
Without further ado, let's take a closer look at some choice Dreams creations.
GL/TCH-R DEMO-SCENE
Creator: Elca_Gaming
As the name suggests, this is more a proof of concept than a fully fleshed out experience, but it's so visually distinct that we had to bring it to your attention. We love the stark monochrome look, and the glitchy screen effects are very well done. There's some seriously inventive stuff going on here, and we can't wait to explore more of this later down the line.
Tiny Pier Simulator 1904
Creator: urbandevill
As big fans of management games, this miniaturised tycoon experience is a real winner. Of all the games we've played in Dreams, this one feels very fleshed out, complete with an opening cutscene, great menus and UI, and an engaging gameplay loop. It's simple enough to play, but it'll likely get its hooks in you. We've put a surprising amount of time into Tiny Pier -- it's better than some "real" games.
MechaWhale
Creator: icecreamcheese
MechaWhale has already earned a fair amount of attention, but for good reason. This is an insanely cool character design that's kind of terrifying at the same time. The metallic stomp of its feet and the animated chainsaw mouth are really effective, and the detail on the whole model is excellent. This would make for a brilliant enemy type in your underwater horror games -- imagine this thing chasing you down.
π‘
Creator: SlurmMacKenzie
SlurmMacKenzie is a prolific Dreams creator, having pumped out lots of top notch mini-games. Many of these are in our Push Square Picks collection, but a favourite of ours is this one. It's a short but stylish puzzle game about light and colour. It's easy to pick up and play and has a great arc to its difficulty, introducing new ideas with each screen. Unique and fun.
Croc: Legend of the Floating Isles Demo
Creator: maddenplayer345
Okay, this entry is partly for roe, but we were genuinely impressed by this Croc demo. The character model is great and moves brilliantly thanks to the lack of tank controls. His little voice clips aren't quite there, but it plays wonderfully. This has a lot of potential.
This is just a small selection of Dreams creations you can find in our Push Square Picks collection. Be sure to give it a follow, as we'll be updating it periodically as we continue to explore the game. What are some of your favourite creations? Let us know in the comments below.

As a massive comic book fan i just love all the various comic book games on there, found a Flash game on there and while basic as hell it was pretty cool especially as the maker put the shows music in the game (i'm curious to how copyright works here) when you super speed.
Love this feature. Have added all of them to my play later list on the dreams website π
Yes! So happy you followed through with creating this feature series. It is really helpful to have your spotlight on cool creations within Dreams. Followed the playlist and gave you a thumbs up.
Woah, I need to give that Croc demo a try.
Actually, I need to give them all a try!
I've genuinely put real time into the pier management game.
That pier managment game looks good might give that a go on the weekend. Really want to start creating stuff but it is just so dam hard to invest time and come up with a good idea and stick with it. I think my problem is just thinking im going to make a massive game like rdr2 lol, where i should really be starting with something basic like pac man or something easy, i really need to give this some time, every time i see an article on here im just amazed at what ppl are doing. Hopefully you guys keep doing this feature, keep the dream alive haha,
Found a pickle Rick simulator...just sayin for next time...π
We should change this forum to "Push Dreams" since you guys are
(I own a copy, the creations are awesome)
You guys seen the new Sonic game in Dreams? Games on there are becoming very impressive.

π You guys! Dreams is finally giving us the new Croc game we so badly need.
I'll have to check out that pier one though. Sounds interesting
Thanks for the article, Iβm looking forward to trying some of these!!!
My faves so far that people should check out: Exodus Machina, The Pilgrim, Untitled Space Opera, The Eternity House, Trace of Time, The Missing Constellation, Damned and Machinelore. I'll gladly take recommendations too. I'm loving the experience.
Tiny Piers looks like my jam, I'l check it out for sure.
@DeepSpace5D I had to remind myself halfway through that video that it was made in Dreams and it wasn't some rezzed up bootleg Dreamcast game. Impressive!
@WallyWest Funny seeing your name on top, I've been in this twitter thread the past 2 days. Maybe it will make sense to you.

@rjejr I like Bart a lot and think he could have had a great run in the end if DC stuck with him but sadly he was in the shadow of Wally and stuck with a pretty bad run even if his "Reverse-Flash" is pretty great.
I have always wanted a Dragon Force or Shining Force sequel. More than anything in the world i want to have infinite time to get good at this to be able to create one of those. But alas, I'm almost 40, have a family to take care of, and a job that wears my mind out. There's just no time.
I have held off on getting the game because of this...damn it why can't money be free?
@get2sammyb i cant imagine the things we are going to see in the next few years. Would u like to see people be able to sell their creations on ps store?
@ILikeStake Dreams is amazing, you can make virtually any game. But for JRPGs I would definitely use RPG maker;
https://www.rpgmakerweb.com/products/programs/rpg-maker-mv
Tiny pier is like a pro quality sim game
@ellsworth004 "Would u like to see people be able to sell their creations on ps store?"
That's a slippery slope.
How much of that is Mm getting for making the game?
How much is Sony getting for running PSN? (Apple is like 30% last I heard.)
You'd also run the risk of people buying it - if it looks good enough - who don't have the game Dreams.
Rather than "selling" and "buying" the game, which seems like it would have a lot legal restrictions, I think paying for playing could be the way to go. Have a $1 donation button next to Like, Back, More Info, etc. Like it's a sex-worker website. (Sorry, first thing that came to mind, I'm sure there are better examples.) Payment would be in Sony Playstation store credit, not really money, which may also help w/ the legalities.
Apologies, I tend to overthink things.
@WallyWest Yeah, you could have helped that thread out. The Arrowverse people, like me, get lost when the comics people show up. I was a comics person, but Marvel, so not helpful.
So, is most of the stuff created "demo" like stuff or is there meaty things as well? I'm still on the fence when it comes to getting it.
@rjejr what i was thinking about was how long will people continue to pour hours and hours into creating stuff without some kind of compensation? I agree with the whole slippery slope thing, money can ruin anything. I would hate to see people lose interest in this, especially the ones that are putting out some of the amazing things we are already seeing. Donations are a very idea!
@BarefootBowser i dont disagree with what ur saying at all. My point was people losing interest, from what i gather making something truly impressive is very time consuming. Like i said in my previous post money can ruin anything. I did like @rjejr idea of being able to donate, even if it was just for ps store credit.
@BarefootBowser Media Molecule has indeed said they would like to see the best of the best creations on Dreams go on to become games that are available to purchase on the PSN store separately from purchasing Dreams. That, I believe, is their long-term goal as far as monetization goes, but I donβt think their vision is to start charging for experiences inside of Dreams.
It seems like they just want the best devs on Dreams to have a chance at making money off their creations. But the game would have to reach a quality level that allows it to be put up on the PSN store.
I'm genuinely interested in how "takedown-party-pooper" Nintendo will come down on all the Nintendo fanmade stuff on Dreams. There's a ton of it, and some of it is really good.
@ellsworth004 I played a JRPG in LBP 1 or 2 that was 7 parts long, it was unbelievable, it was like an old school Final Fantasy game. I can only imagine hwo many hour speopel will put into this game creation engine.
Some do it for fun, some do it for the prestige of "likes", some do it to show off to their friends, maybe trying to 1-up each other, some will use them to try to get a job in the gaming industry. So I think it will last a few years at least, even w/o payment. But I woudln't min d a $1 tip button so I didn't have to think about how much to tip them or that I was being ripped off. A $1 is nothing to be, but it could make a very talented someone $1 million.
Maybe on PS5 they'll find a way?
@rjejr there is one creator xxrazorfishxx who put a paypal and patreon. i am planning to donate to him for his games.
@BarefootBowser I found the quote from MM co-founder regarding it:
βOne of the obvious things that I think we should do as a no-brainer is handpick some of the content thatβs brilliant and go through the motions of taking it out as a standalone product and putting it on the PSN Store. It would make a fantastic story and seeing how the community has developed over such a short period of time, thereβs already stuff in there thatβs close to PSN worthy, I think, so that at the very least will happen Iβm sure, Iβll make that happen.
But yeah, the ultimate aim is for people to be able to monetise their stuff somehow, but itβs a delicate balance. Itβs not just about, how do you get things past the lawyers? Itβs also about, what is it you want to get past the lawyers in the first place? Whatβs the model? Itβs a tricky one because you donβt want to spoil that sense of people sharing and collaborating, you want to keep it friendly and money can easily make things turn a different way.β
It will be interesting to see how Dreams evolves over the next couple years.
@rjejr yeah like i said before, the whole tipping or donating idea is really great imo. Like u said $1 is nothing and would encourage people to create really good content. Best idea ive heard in awhile. Good thinking!
@rjejr I like the idea of tipping, but I think the barrier of making a PSN store purchase each time is still likely to be too high for most players.
Hereβs my proposal: MM should offer a βsupport your favorite dreamersβ subscription. Something like $5/month would position it well against Apple Arcade. If youβre a subscriber, your $5 is simply divided among all your likes for that month (minus platform costs). It would be super low friction for players, while still offering a real incentive for creators to build great content.
@RevDrGalactus I like it, but it sounds extra complicated, like something Nintendo would do.
@ellsworth004 Thanks.
@rjejr and with donating $.75 goes to creator, $.25 goes to various charities. MM seems pretty stand up, i could see them down with that.
@jess3a3 "there is one creator xxrazorfishxx who put a paypal and patreon. i am planning to donate to him for his games."
Did he put it in his games? I can't imagine an active link in game but like just writing out the web address?
I tried xxrazorfishxx and razorfish on the indreams.me website but no listings. It's almost midnight so I'm going to bed but I'll search tomorrow.
@ellsworth004 Mm seems pretty stand up, but they're owned by Sony, who turned PS+ from a nice $50 a year bonus filled w/ games, themes and avatars on PS3 into a $60 online requirement w/ only 2 games on PS4. So my trust in the fair sharing of the money is lacking.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Media_Molecule
@rjejr i guess sometimes im too much of a optismist a have to much faith in the human race.
@rjejr "ball world adventures" is his creation
@rjejr youtube Twitter Instagram don't share much money either
@jess3a3 Ah I see the problem now, you wrote razorfisH but it's razorfisT, guy is probably a Fist of the North Star fan, not a marine biologist. Got it in the playlist now, thanks.
And it's good that there are guys like you w/ faith in humanity b/c I've lost all mine. Which is really sad trying to raise 2 teenage sons wondering what their adult lives will be like drowning in student loan debt and global warming. π’
I think donations are less about the amount of money - nobody should be making levels in Dreams expecting to retire early off of it - but just getting nay compensation at all. If you make something good, even if you can only get $15 total from it you can buy The Witcher 3 Complete on sale.
@Daleaf hurry up weβre all waiting for you to make RDR3! π
Gonna have to give these a try later on... Anyone tried Southpaw cooking? So chaotic! π
Very cool, love seeing what people have come up with!
@Quintumply https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMFdmouna3Q
amazing song made on dreams!
@Dodoo haha, well I will start on the tree tonight, hopefully will be finished by 2060 π€ . Did try that pier management and fair play was hooked on it probably sunk around 4hrs without noticing lol.
