After spending far, far too long talking amongst themselves, developer People Can Fly finally got around to showcasing the first slice of gameplay for Outriders. The game is headed to both PlayStation 4 and Sony's next-generation PlayStation 5 at the end of this year, making the title you see above more than likely one of its launch games. In essence, it looks a lot like Destiny with gear rarity, customisation, loot, and an endgame.
You'll be able to play as one of four classes -- those being the Trickster, Pyromancer, and Devastator. The fourth is being kept secret for now, but each comes with its own set of abilities, perks, and powers. The third-person shooter ships with a character creator, town spaces where you can interact with other characters, and vendors selling items and armour to upgrade your build. It is not an open-world title, rather restricting its co-operative focused action to fast travel points and hub areas much like Rise of the Tomb Raider.
The gameplay reveal itself was rather lacklustre. We can't claim to be particularly impressed by what we saw, but then we weren't one of the media outlets lucky enough to get their hands on the game in the previous weeks. What do you make of the six-minute slice of action? Pick your class in the comments below.

I only skipped through the video. I didn't get whether this is a live service game or single player. Which one is it?
@sabaki08 Three player co-op game.
@kyleforrester87 I take it back, Anthem does have a chance if this is the competition 😂
This looks terrible. So now we've got two Destiny ripoffs at launch for the PS5, this and Godfall. Smh.
Btw how is nobody but one website reporting on the new leaked Harry Potter RPG footage. I'd much rather read about that than this generic garbage.
This looks dull as heck. Gears + Destiny + Division. I actually like all those but this doesn't look like it brings anything new to the table. Looks extremely mediocre unfortunately.
I don't know if it's fair to call this a PS5 game. Yes it's on the ps5 but seems like mainly a ps4 game that was enhanced for ps5 as well.
I'd call a game a PS5 game if it's only for PS5 and not the ps4. More like a PS4+ game.
Gears of Destiny then.
I don’t think my initial enthusiasm for a title has cooled quite so quickly ever before!!
It all depends on the reviews..
No I'm kidding haha
I liked what I saw actually!
Edit
Really like the setting and if course its tps thanks God not another Fps
@sabaki08
I think its solo OR drop in coop
@Ken_Kaniff The leaked footage they’re reporting on is two years old.
@LiamCroft
I'm not sure why you compare Fps with tps. It's a very important difference. I remember people and pushsquare were going on and on and on about Destiny at the start of ps4. Well hey, should be a good sign for people who prefer tps right?
Looks like a generic shooter that's like Destiny and Warframe style which sounds boring, because I have Destiny and Warframe filling them holes
Nothing about that seems next gen.seems awfully generic and dull like others have said.
Sony should step in and take control of these supposed first glimpses of ps5 because its creating a horrible first impression imho
Not bad.definetly giving this game a try.word up son
@LiamCroft No I remember the short leak from two years ago. This has almost two mins worth of footage.
@Ken_Kaniff It is the same footage. Believe me, if it was new, we would have posted about it. However, it's not.
Who said this is PS5 footage? I would imagine their reveal is for the PS4, seeing as the PS5 hasn't been officially announced yet. I'll wait to see more, it reminds me of Gears of war but with magic.
@LiamCroft well whether it is or not it looks a helleva lot better than this Outriders does. Even with the grainy footage, lol.
Will buy a New Co-Op game "like" a game I like over an old port (I know how it ends) on any month. The logic of "generic" is so insane in an age people pay $60 to replay the same exact game over. And most of the INDIE scene is making games "like" old NES games 🙄
Has a Gears of war vibe. And the first few minutes of run and gun in the IGN video looks like fun.
Also glad they not trying to make a PVP component, and just focusing on co-op. Story/World/Gun-Play... see how that goes.
Can't wait to complain about this being one of the Playstation Plus games at some point.
Ah its a lootershooter hmmm no thanks.
There goes my hype. I liked the slow down ability & the bullets travelling slower in the bubble, but everything else was a bit meh.
Both are three player co-op games, but I think Godfall at the moment looks better than this.
The Gears Division? It has a very Division look to its game-play but in a sci-fi setting. Destiny may well be the most 'successful' looter shooter but this looks much more like the Division on a different planet. I guess having some abilities - like fire - does add a bit more Destiny but overall, it looks quite generic and tried to incorporate something from other looter shooters.
The story could be its saving grace but nothing really jumps out and makes me want to pre-order. This isn't PS5 game-play either but PC. Why people are saying its a next gen game is because its the 'first' game that has been playable and that will be released on next gen too - although its also coming to current gen. However, all the video's and people that have played, have played on PC's...
It looks okay enough to make me want to keep it on my radar to see how it develops. Though it's going to have a tough time against BGE2 and Cyberpunk 2077 which I'm really looking forward to.
Division bored me quicker than i expected and as for Anthem. I got so frustrated with it I broke and binned the disc and wiped it from my machine.
