Sony’s launched a new sale on the European and North American PlayStation Stores, spotlighting retro games and remasters. The deals, which will run through 21st February, include reductions on titles like Spyro Reignited Trilogy, Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
You can also nab up to 50 per cent off PS2 Classics like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Everybody’s Tennis, and also score money off various Arcade Archives titles like Fatal Fury 2 and Samurai Shodown. Many of the offers are consistent across regions, but there are some differences, so refer to the official list of deals for Europe and North America through the respective links.

That’s what I’m talking about! It’s the PS4’s last year in business so they are trying to go out with a bang. Good sales and two great months of good PS Plus games in a row. I’ve actually been holding off on buying PS4 games because I don’t know what’s going to be in the lineup.
I'm annoyed that Final Fantasy VIII isn't in this sale. I know it was on sale recently, but I...wasn't ready then. I am now. But not $20 ready.
@Deadhunter If you can hold out, just keep waiting. These sales always come around.
If I didn't already have Okami three times...
Think I'll finally grab AC Rogue, rude not to for a tenner. The Hitman HD Collection is well worth £15. Absolution is worth that alone, such an underrated game.
Edit: Nice to see Sony sticking to their Anti-EU policy, the difference between the US and EU sale is disgraceful.
Build up that back log - as if it wasn't long enough already.
You can't go wrong with DOOM for 1.99!
Retro sale: Syberia and Cel Damage on PS3, Vertical Drop Heroes on Vita.
I mean, I'm used to the sales rarely including the discontinued consoles nowadays, but with a name like this? Come on now, when your storefront continues to host sizeable PS1 and PSP libraries, one may be led to wonder if we are talking different definitions of "retro".😅
Granted, there WAS a quiet bunch of discounted PS1 classics recently - I got the two Suikodens from it myself - but these days you'll be lucky if the website even manages to list them in the general offer tab, let alone advertise specifically.
@RedFinch my Switch library alone is closing in on 330 titles and likely to exceed the number before March. And the combined PS4/Vita/PSP ones, albeit largely IGC-inflated (on Switch, I count the subscription retro libraries separately)? 331 title to date. I hereby feel personally attacked.😂
Cheers for this article. Just snapped up Shadow of the Colossus for £12.99. I’ve bought so many games on sale recently I need to get round to actually playing them. Arkham Knight, Spider-Man, Resident Evil 2, Borderlands the Handsome collection, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, God of War.... the list goes on and on. Recently finished Detroit: Become Human. Wondering what to play next...
Definitely Shadow of the Colossus. I've been watching a copy on disc for just a little bit more on eBay for a while now so this will do nicely.
Maybe Medievil too.
Decided to get Vice City, must've been about 10 years old last time I played it.
There's some really cheap deals in the PS3 store...
Might get an old Breath of Fire PS1 game for $2.
Or the old Doom games on PS4 for not much more.
£17.49 for spyro trilogy when it's been £12 around Christmas
@GamerDad66
Is it even possible to browse PS3 sales on the website anymore, or is it restricted to the console storefront only?
@Vacuumator @nhSnork as ever, i recommend checking https://psprices.com/region-gb/index and filtering by your country and platform of choice.
Sony spectacularly fail to advertise vita sales, so its the only way to keep tabs on what is actually on sale. The same will now be true for PS3.
If you click on individual games it also gives you a graph which shows when the game was previously on sale and for what price.
@Rob_230 thanks, I've been using it for several years myself. It's just that this case felt more ironic than usual - a "retro sale" almost entirely neglecting the platforms that house most of Sony's retro legacy on the store.
@nhSnork You make a very good point!
@Rob_230
Thanks, I always forget about PS Prices.
It’s a shame the stores for the PS3 and Vita have been so neglected. Sales from these stores may be dwindling, but obviously customers are going to be less inclined to make purchases if the content isn’t promoted.
The store system last-gen is so cumbersome to use nowadays, the PS3 Store is notoriously slow and the way the download list does not allow for filtering by system makes management of games infuriating. For example, I just discovered that I could use an old M2 card in my PSP and decided to load it up with games. Since I own an E-1000 with no WiFi connectivity, it seems the most manageable way to find and transfer data is very convoluted. I actually referenced my download list via the store on my Vita (arguably I could just play the PSP games on the Vita, but I wanted to load them up on original hardware and also free up precious storage on the Vita) as it shows PS3 games as unavailable for download, so it’s easier to visually filter out the contents. I then searched for the titles I wanted to download on the PS3 store. I really don’t find the PS3 download list manageable at all. Does anyone know a better way to filter out systems?
If PS5 offers backwards compatibility it absolutely needs to offer comprehensive filtering of content across past systems. Perhaps the PS5 could offer more than just folders for organisation of content from different Sony consoles and load up a front-end tailored to each system? A proper, museum-like presentation, whilst unlikely, would be be a great way to present the history of Sony’s vast back catalogue.
Microsoft’s approach to backwards compatibility seems like the perfect way to go and it would be great if Sony could replicate a similar system on PS5. I have been collecting physical PS3 games over the past couple of years and to be able to use these next-generation would be a huge draw. If Sony only allows for past-generation games to be purchased and downloaded from a store that, over time, does not promote this content effectively, then it seems like a wasted opportunity.
Comprehensive backwards compatibility is the feature I’m most interested in for PS5. I’m not sure I would want to get rid of all my other Sony systems, but to think that almost everything is playable in one place is hugely appealing.
Just bought ctr for $23 and soul calibur 6 for $15, it's a good psn discount
Crikey!
There are some really good picks there!
Looks like there's no 'sale' groups in the PS3 store anymore.
You have to look at web lists and search for specific games.
There's link in the article above for all PS1 games in the PS3 game sale.
Nice. Some very good sales. 🙂
