There's no Super Bowl this weekend, and not even a full programme of Premier League fixtures, so sports shouldn't get in the way of your gaming. We've got a relatively short WAYP for you this time, but the comments have been on fire for a while, so we're looking forward to a bumper number of replies below.

I started Concrete Genie, and I've been outrageously impressed with it. I know the game's quite short, so I'm playing it one chapter at a time, and really enjoying it so far.

This weekend is, once again, all about Dreams. Now that I'm back in the swing of things, I'm finding some truly amazing creations from the community. It's an endless carousel of madness, and I love it. If I get time, I may also check out the hand drawn, roguelike platformer EarthNight.

I've been pleased at my stepdad's recent interest in PS4 gaming, but it was an eye-opener how overwhelming modern third-person controls can be to a new gamer, when he first tried out Assassin's Creed Syndicate. I then had the idea of showing him Kell Andersen's Push Square review of Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, because I figured the slower pace and accessibility of its controls would be more manageable.
What are you playing this weekend, then? Have you got anything in particular in mind? Are you struggling to find things to keep you occupied? Let us know in the comments section below.

Still Red dead redemption 2. After so many hours and I'm still in chapter 3 taking my time with it. I also started Transistor yesterday. It's very pretty and I like the fights, but I don't understand much of the story.
Edit: I forgot about the awesome music from Transistor. Top notch.
You guys probably won't have heard of it, but I've unearthed a little gem called Horizon Zero Dawn
I got addicted to Witcher Thronebreaker on the switch, I won’t be playing anything else but that gem.
@Gremio108 It was the second biggest game of 2017, how is it a hidden gem?
I’m playing Link’s Awakening, then I’m going to finish Nioh in time for the sequel. I’ll also get started on the Uncharted & Bioshock collections.
I tend to stick with games until I finish them so still playing Death Stranding on my Pro and AC Odyssey on my slim. In hades in the DLC so might get that completed this weekend.
Not sure what I’ll pick from my backlog next. I’m thinking something small for a change.
Still playing spider-man dlc, the big enemy with machine gun is super annoying 😕
I work this weekend so probably not a whole lot of gaming time. If I get some I hoping to finish the Abraxis side mission and defeat Wrath in Darksiders 3 and just continue to grind promotions in Plants vs Zombies Battle for Neighborville. Maybe some Pokemon Sword in my Switch at work.
Dragon's Dogma, finished the story but backed up my save just before the final boss to farm Everfall and the Ur Dragon. Went to Bitterblack and was doing fine until the Dark Bishop who completely wrecked my entire party in no time at all. So, my weekend will be spent farming and leveling then trekking back to that prick for round two!
Nothing. I've finished RDR2 and don't feel like playing anything. I feel empty inside after having spent around a month of my life with Arthur and the gang and I grew so attached to them. Last time I felt like this was when I finished the Witcher 3. In case I haven't made that clear- the game is a goddamn masterpiece in my book. Now I want to play RDR1 but don't have my PS3 anymore
Sammy, no Super Bowl means it's now XFL time.
I'm not feeling anything to play this weekend, although i have a massive backlog. Maybe i will start Lara Croft Go on the Vita.
Im working through Dragon Quest 11 at the moment. I'm 50 hours in and just headed to yggdrasil, so ill be continuing with that when i get an opportunitiy. I boight Gorogoa in a recent sale so may try and do abit more of that too.
If i have time for handheld gaming, ill be continuing with my playthrough of Trails of Cold Steel 2 on Vita. About 60 hours in and still nowhere near the end
I think I've said Persona 5 on the WAYPTW for the last two months lol. I mean, that's how long I've been playing the game.
Anyways, I'm 82 hours in and just started the sixth palace. Still having a blast with no burnout. It's kinda crazy.
Currently playing Pillars of Eternity 2 - enjoying the story thus far, but man those loading screens are just killer. Not sure if poor programming or whether Obsidian deliberately gimped it on PS4 to appease their new masters/overlords in Redmond (be interesting to know if the Xbox version runs any better).
It’s my birfday 🤫
On PS4 I'll mostly be playing LEGO Jurassic World, but if time allows I may hook up my PSVR to try out Firewall: Zero Hour.
On Switch I'll likely be jumping into SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy (which I've had for awhile but only started up last night), but may get around to trying out Byleth in Smash too.
Tokiden kiwami and last remnant remastered.word up son
@wiiware me too, just started Turf Wars.
Having finally finished up Control (great game!) I’m working through my my backlog, starting with Greedfall. Interesting game so far although yeh controls feel a bit loose and the combat is a bit boring. The world is interesting to explore though, feels a bit like a poor mans Dragon Age at the moment but hoping it picks up. Also be playing some Apex Legends for the new season
With my birthday on Monday coming I've bought myself the yakuza remastered collection of 3, 4 and 5. I'm currently working on AC:Liberation platinum for this month and I'm hopeful to get back playing the council as a side itch.
I’m finally nearing the end of RDR2. Am currently in epilogue 2, with just a few missions left. After that I’m gonna try out Red dead online. For my racing fix I’m alternating between Grid (2019) and Wreckfest.
I'm playing the rather very good Bioshock Infinite and imaging the sh*tstorm it would cause today with all the themes it tackles in the game. Really enjoying it.
@kyleforrester87 Happy Birfdy, Kyle, you mad old get!
@kyleforrester87 Happy Birthday!! Have a great day 😃
Will you be changing your profile pic to 'The End' from MGS3 to reflect your advancing years? 😉
@gollumb82 I know what you mean. Such a let down after you finish a game you were totally immersed in. Don't want the game to end. Give it some time and the emotions will come back on the next best game ever!!! At least there are so many games now, we will always have something new to look forward too.
I'll be playing a couple more relaxed games after finishing God of War and Spiderman. Working on Frostpunk and Tropico 6.
Finish Claire A on RE2. Then finish the first main witcher 3 dlc and a few other missions.
Still trying to finish all contracts and find all paintings in the lovely painting of Dishonored DotO, the game is so clever in hiding things. I tried Prey demo, not really impressed, I don't know if it's the CryEngine that's boring compared to the Void Engine. Plus, fished all legendary fish in RDR2 and went to meet Gill.
And I've been thinking, if it's really Take Two putting pressure on Rockstar to release games quickly and it's made Dan move on then that's sad. Then again if Dan & Sam were to setup a new studio and have all the time in the world to create masterpieces, I'd say any platform like Sony or MS who decides to finance them for exclusivity will sell consoles like crazy.
Just picked up Ghostbusters Remastered in the sale so I'll be getting stuck into that today after playing through Firewatch last weekend (which I thought was excellent and slightly undeserving of the walking simulator label - more interactive and far better written and performed than Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, which bored me stupid).
Having finally given PvP a go on eso must say I'm hooked so a nice weekend in cyrodiil for me
I recently bought New Super Luckys Tale on Switch which is absolutely adorable so even though I heard its not a very long game..I'll mostly be playing that...as well as..:
Stardew Valley
Alliance Alive
Atelia Ryza and My Time At Portia.
I picked up control and wreckfest mid week so probably mix of both dependant of mood, control looks good so far. Wreckfest is brilliant the online is where most of the fun can be had, played the other day was in first place most of race, then someone spun me out and finished 12th was just laughing because there was so much carnage lol, just so much fun. @gollumb82 you could get ps now rdr 1 is on there think there is a free trial for a week too, a new one i had one b4 and and tried the free trial and it worked for me again.
Blackguards 2! Almost at the gates of Mengbilla to rightfully usurp my former husband and become the First Kyria! 😃
For me its Call of Duty Modern Warfare single player campaign and Castle Crashers Remastered with both on PS4.
On a side note, how come that Castle Crashers Remastered doesn’t have trophy support?
@Nightcrawler71 might be smashing into you on wreckfest later on 😯
@gollumb82 Ha, that's exactly how I felt at the end of the game. It truly is a masterpiece, same for The Witcher 3.
@1_W1NG3D_4NG3L Can’t really detect someone’s tone over text
Playing Days Gone and going to start Bioshock as well.
While I have been trying to focus on Dragon Quest VIII on my 3DS recently, I've been distracted by playing Earth Defense Force 5 with my friend, so I predict more of that.
Crash Team Racing, Samurai Shodown, Control, and Resident Evil 2 for PS4.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Astral Chain on Switch.
I'll be playing some Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair on PC, playing some Rhythm Paradise on DS, and some Smash Bros and Splatoon 2 on Switch.
Days Gone for me still early in the game but I'm really enjoying it so far?
Activated the 7 day free trial of ps now, so spending some time that, might re-sub to it, played Until Dawn during the week, I finished it, so may replay episodes for the rest of the trophies.
Trying to get though all those bosses on KINGDOM HEARTS III ReMind
some are really tough
I am playing The Last of Us Remastered, and I am just enthralled by the game all over again. This is the first time I have played the game since its initial release, and the first time I have played the excellent Left Behind DLC. What an amazing game-even after all these years it still retains its power. Kudos all over again Naughty Dog for this masterpiece.
I was already very excited to play Part II. I am now super turbo charged excited.
@stevenfins I really enjoy all of the games from Supergiant, and the one constant is excellent music in all of them. I still listen to music from Bastion, Pyre, and Transistor often (I am waiting until Hades leaves early access to play it, but I'm sure it will be great too).
Flowerz (Windows Phone) - This has been mildly entertaining so far.
Briquid Mini (Windows Phone) - The difficulty has spiked big time.
Panzer Geekz (Windows Phone) - Nearly done with this as well.
@Col_McCafferty
Pretty much what you've said. I guess your profile pic tells the story here. How are you finding Days Gone? I'm thinking of buying it in the foreseeable future.
@777Reigns
Thanks man. That'a the beauty of this wonderful hobby. Waiting for the next big thing
@Daleaf
Thanks for the useful tip, but until hell freezes over I will steer clear of any streaming of games.
@Westernwolf4 I blame my huge backlog, especially on Steam for not having played any of them yet, despite knowing about their quality, but I hope I'll get to them eventually. Hades with its greek mythology looks great and I've heard that it's already in a great state, even if it's on early access.
@gollumb82 Yeah, it's a deliberate pic!
Really liking it, I'm almost playing it as if I'm in The Walking Dead rather than an actual game, if that makes sense. Take my time planning missions and always considering the fuel and ammo before setting out. Oh and time of day, that's very important!
It reminds me in some ways of Red Dead. Not at the same level of course but it's world feels really grounded despite the 'fantasy' element of zombies, sorry I mean freakers.
😉
Bottom line, if you love Red Dead then I think you might also enjoy Days Gone.
Toukiden kiwami and last remnant remastered.word up son
@Akurusu I believe you're thinking of Horizon Chase Turbo
@kyleforrester87 Happy birthday!
@stevenfins You are in for a treat my friend. Enjoy!
Thinking of firing up the SNES Classic for some retro goodness this weekend when I am not watching the XFL games.
@gollumb82 fair enough, i only used it to download ps4 games, did try streaming something the last time i had a free trial but it wasnt the best experience, so totally understand why you wouldnt want to.
@FinneasGH In the main game the big guy can be defeated with webbing and throwing him when he's webbed, in dlc he's immune to webbing, so it's either using 2 portion of stamina bar to use finisher to defeat him or using electricity web to stun him.
The problem is usually the big guy is the last man standing so I can't build-up stamina because there isn't enemies left standing, and the electricity web only give a couple of second stun to the big guy, I have chance if he's alone, but usually there's 2 big guy left standing. It just isn't fun, who's idea is it to make the big guy immune to normal web, that's suck
I’ll be playing Dragon Quest VIII on my New Nintendo 2DS XL. That’s all I have time for since I work this weekend, and we have inventory to do
@wiiware Yep just finished the DLC and they don’t get less annoying.
Bloodstained on Switch for me this weekend and maybe some Metroid Fusion.
if anyone has any tips for the Sword Saint in Sekiro I'm all ears like dmackjng my head against a wall
Yakuza 5 - with a palette cleanser of fight night round 3 as I’ve back to backed all the yakuzas to this point - PS3 been dominating my gaming time recently - poor old PS4
@playstation1995 nice work sir 😊👍
Shadow Legend in VR. If you have a set your missing out if you havent played.
@Unffclcntrllerpd. You like both games.haha.word up son
Xenoblade 2, the Torna DLC...
@Daleaf
I tried Remote play on my laptop once (played The Last of Us) and it was terrible. To be honest, I'm counting on PS5 to be BC all the way to PS3 at least. I bought RDR1 in digital format so just gotta have the right platform for it If BC won't be an option and Rockstar won't remake the game then I'm going to buy a PS3 just for this game alone.
@Col_McCafferty
Seems right up my alley. Thanks for the input
@playstation1995 Need to get back on Toukiden Kiwami myself, l liked what I played of it.
Some more skyrim and yakuza 0 for me. Also some lighter games. Dont judge but I've been playing goat simulator from plus with my daughter and, well, it's awful but at the same time hilarious! Thats two games I've moaned about on plus that I've actually enjoyed. Also some Luigi mansion 3, pretty tasty graphics for a 7 yr ol tablet!
Just stuck on fifa, drew 2 and lost 1 so I turned it of in a huff. Back onto battlefield hardline campaign which I've been meaning to play for ages (really my external hard drive has filled up and I'm playing through games I dont want to delete without playing as I'd probably never install them again...) but its actually alright. Feels like playin an American cop show 😁
@gamiller1978. Yeah its q great game.i had it for psvita..now i got it on my ps4 pro.word up son
I'm on a nostalgia run, so i'm continuing my Fallout 2 playtrough.
(also these gory animations never get old)
I'm playing Shenmue 1 and to my surprise I really like it. I'm looking for a guy named Charlie, he wears a leather jacket and has a tattoo on his arm.
I also started playing Dirt 4. It's a lot better than I thought.
Got some time playing Fortnite with my nephew and we made top 4 in Duo’s.
Otherwise Pokémon, Baldur’s Gate and Out Run.
@Ps4_all_the_way
Do you know of any places sailors hang out?
Currently playing Warframe at the moment. Might go back to Let it Die, Battle for the Grid, Shadow Legend VR and No More Heroes 2 soon.
Still working on Legend of Legends in Death Stranding also just started Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 remix.
Had a huge snow storm roll through here the past couple of days and dropped more than a foot of snow! Been plowing for 3 days! Got a few hours sleep here and there, so I'm going to be catching up on sleep and playing death stranding. Just about to start chapter 8. I think I'm getting a little burned out from this game, but I'm obligated to figure out how this wackiness ends!
My PS4 has the weekend off while I play the touryst on switch...
Had monster hunter world in my backlog (vanilla). Decided to give it another try and must say I'm enjoying it way more than before. So I think I'll stick with this for a while.
@Arugula a Plague Tale is great, it’s a really good story.
@gollumb82 ive been feeling the same way after Shenmue 3.
I just finished Borderlands 3 and already restarted it again because my son wanted to play it too.
I think the next game I'm going to play is Assassin's Creed Revelations. (Yes, I'm that far behind on the AC series. Don't judge.)
Been playing ac origins for a week, my first ac game and clicked with the controls and gameplay yesterday! Thoroughly enjoying it now 😊
