It’s not been a particularly busy week in the games industry, but Dreams’ release feels significant, not just because it’s a major game but because more big launches are right around the corner. Yes, delays mean that the schedule isn’t quite as crowded as it once was, but you better start thinking about cleaning up that backlog before you get snowed in.

I think I’m probably allowed to say that I’ll be playing Two Point Hospital this weekend, and as a Theme Hospital fanboy I genuinely can’t wait. I’ll also be diving in and out of Dreams, as I feel like Early Access creators have been waiting until launch week to publish their best work.
Stephen Tailby, Associate Editor
Dreams, of course! I'll be playing it as much as possible this weekend, as I'm working on something fun that you'll get to see pretty dang soon. It isn't Snacks on a Train, mind -- apologies. One day.

My terrible, horrible friend suggested my Rainbow Six: Siege squad try playing Rainbow again despite us all having given up on the game about a year ago. And now we're all hooked again and I don't know how to feel. But I do know what I'll be playing: Rainbow Six: Siege.

With a relatively quiet time between now and the inevitable PS5 launch later this year, I will be trying to clear some of my backlog. The past few weeks I have managed to clear Death Stranding, Days Gone, and Dark Souls III from my hefty backlog. This weekend I’m hoping to finish off the gargantuan Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
What are you playing this weekend? Have you got anything particular in mind, or will you just play whatever takes your fancy? Let us know in the comments section below.

I cleared Bravely Default coz I’m hardcore (that’s Baldurs Gate and BD crossed off the list so far this year, I’m well chuffed!)
I’m on with another uncleared favourite, Bravely Second!
Yakuza 3 Remastered. Was gaming mostly on Xbox 360 at the time the game originally released for PS3 and I also didn't care for some of what I heard about the original localization. But with that fixed and the remastered graphics and 60 fps gameplay, now is the best time to give it a go. Interested to see where I'll rank this one in the series. My friends who did play it said combat not as strong as 1 or 2 but the story is the best. 4 chapters in so still a ways to go but I do enjoy it a lot so far.
I've reached the point where I can no longer tell the difference between Horizon Zero Dawn and real life.
Yesterday I shot down a child's drone at the park because I thought it was a Stormbird.
Flowerz (Windows Phone) - Nearing the halfway point.
Briquid Mini (Windows Phone) - I've been stuck on the same puzzle for a few days now.
Panzer Geekz (Windows Phone) - On my last mission now.
Metro Exodus will be getting my full attention
I dunno why but I bought Fallout 4 GOTY Edition on a whim so I'll be playing through it again for the next hundred hours or so. It's still good fun despite its shortcomings.
Also Red Dead Online because it's my peace of mind go-to game.
More Days Gone and BioShock for me.
I’ll be dipping into Dreams to check out all the cool creations, I’m staying well away from the creating side as I’m terribly uncreative! I’ll also play some Apex and CoD this weekend I’m sure. I’m off work next week so I’ll be looking to make some progress in Sekiro which I’ve restarted after getting over half way in it when it released. Hoping I’ll finally get past Guardian Ape this time! Also also play some more Greedfall but it’s starting to lose my interest, the fact it doesn’t have one coherent open world and is broken down into areas is a real put off for me, takes a lot of the fun out of exploring to be honest.
Been playing the crap out of Dragon's Dogma lately so it'll be more of that. On my 2nd run of Bitterblack which is way harder than any of the Souls games imo, spent half of my time there sprinting past enemies, the place is absolutely brutal! Good fun though.
Ps4
Atelia Ryza,
My Time At Portia.
Switch
Stardew Valley,
New Super Luckys Tale,
Fire Emblem Three Houses.
And loving absolutely all of them!
Fist of The North Stararararaaaa! & dipping in & out of Dreams.
Just clearing through my backlog until Nioh 2!
I've been jumping between so many games in the last few days. Metro Exodus, Zombie Army Trilogy, Duck Tales Remastered and Hollow Knight. Can hopefully get a good go on Dreams soon as well.
I usually try to focus on just the one game at a time, haha.
I’ll be playing the division 2 , pes 2020 and thronebreaker on the switch
Still playing spider-man dlc, I'm not going to play screwball side mission, I'm done with screwball.
Also I found out the key to defeating the big guy with machine gun is either defeat other enemies until spidey has 2 bar finisher and use finisher on the big guy or use electricity web and combo him with 5-6 hits combo twice, usually the big guy is stunned for at least 2 5-6 hits combo.
I really want to finish the dlc story, delete the game and play other games. I think it will be great if insomniacs just focus on the story and not on the side mission, I've played enough of side mission in the main game.
Trackmania Turbo, one of the best arcade racers on the ps4!
Conan Exiles...
Mutant year zero road to eden.last remnant remastered and valkyrie chronicles remaster.word up son
Finishing off Trails of Cold Steel, trying to clear the backlog a bit before it gets crazy in March/April.
See last weekend for details.
About to meet Hartman in Death Stranding and just finished the road between Lake and South cities.
Rapidly approaching 200 hours in AC Odyssey and dlc but pretty sure I’ve nearly finished it.
Finished Guacamelee 2 last night so I can now devote my game time to Days Gone. Really tempted by dreams to get the creative juices flowing, might buy it later on!
After finishing Divinity Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition last week (Finally) I'm now flicking between Iconoclasts and NieR: Automata Game Of The YoRHa Edition
Good stuff so far... Can't wait to see what happens next in NieR, just reached the amusement park!
I'm starting my Yakuza marathon with some metro redux on the side.
If I get the chance to play anything it’ll be Dreams. As much as I’d love to make something in the Creative Mode, I doubt I’ll ever find the patience to, but there’s already so many great things created in it.
Started my 2nd playthrough of AC Odyssey with Alexios and enjoying it more this time round. I dunno I just prefer Alex to Cass, and it's more fun playing it slow like a Rockstar game. I don't get why most openworlds make the left stick - run by default, how many adults do you see running around like idiots irl? Breaks immersion. It makes sense in post-apocalyptic settings like HZD, Fallout 4 but not in games like Yakuza, even Witcher 3 - I never liked Geralt running round.
Plus more and more FIFA 20.
@ApostateMage Fallout 4 is legendary, full stop.
I'm replaying the Dead Space games, on a mighty quest for the platinums. It turns out I'll have to grow a pair and play them on the impossible/hardcore difficulties. One down, two to go.
Dreams. Just Dreams. Feels amazing to finally play a story mode from Mm again because their campaigns are truly unlike anything else in the industry, charm oozing out their pores and a strange but compelling sense of British twee. Played around half of Art's Dream, I'm trying to soak it in and take it slow but I'm definitely hooked. And lord, don't even get me started on the user-created stuff. This game is something special, far beyond the already insane standard of the studio's past catalogue.
I'm back on Dragon Quest Heroes, and planning on doing some Dream surfing. I also downloaded latest Dead Cells update, so may jump back into that, I didn't play the previous update, haven't played it since it originally came out,
I'm about 2 days away from having to send the calling card for the sixth palace in Persona 5. Just been maxing out some confidants, stats (all I have left is Guts) and want to get as far down into Mementos as humanly possible.
That and I may delve into the full release of Dreams, and once I get my new PC built I'll download Boneworks.
My favourite part of the week love coming on here and seeing what everyone is playing - for me more yakuza 5 on ps3 picked up the remastered edition which has been on preorder , sims4 , def jam vendetta on ps2 and maybe just maybe some ni no kuni - eclectic I know - hope everyone has a great weekend
Finishing off the Witcher 3. I’m torn because I will have every trophy except bringing all allies to Kaher Morhen and finishing game on death march. Don’t think I have it in me though for a second play through...108 hours in!
@M1359 minecraft on survival , such a good game when it gets you , you go deep
Still just playing generation zero. Leveling enough rivals to go on a an experimental weapon hunt.
Absolutely some of The Division 2 after a long break from it and the recent news update.
Hoping to close in on the platinum on Nioh this weekend , my copy of the sequel will be here before I know it.
Postie also dropped Bayonetta/Vanquish on the matt this morning so I am keen to get onto those too.
I watched the Dragon Quest movie from Netflix which I'm surprised not one commented here or got an article and it's better than I expected and later gonna watch Ni No Kuni and I can't wait for Castlevania season 3
Snack World on Nintendo Switch and Etrian Odyssey Nexus on 3DS. It's a very dungeon-crawlery weekend for me.
@kyleforrester87 I tried so hard to play Baldurs Gate but I just couldn't stick with it. It's such a classic but the current generation of games with amazing graphics makes me lose interest with older games. I wish they would remake it.
Yakuza 3 Remastered
@DominatorV93 lol😂😂
I'm going to try Nioh...wish me luck. I've heard it makes you want to throw your controller and cat out the window.
@GKO900 I thought the movie was great, Ni No Kuni is queued on my list to watch also can't wait for Castlevania Season 3!
I'm back to the world of the living dead and playing Resident Evil 2, Claire run and it is such a masterpiece. Can't wait for Resi 3! Happy gaming!
Bioshock 1, got it for PS plus and haven't played it yet 🙂
Getting back into Street Fighter V and Resident Evil 2. I’m on Claire 2nd Run.
Heading out on a trip with my family so I can finally get my Switch play time.
Will mostly play Witcher Tales: Thronebreaker as I ve never played it on big consoles, but I find it just the perfect game for Switch
Will also put some time into Astral Chain as Im coming closer amd closer to the ending,
And finally if I manage to get some time on my PS4 will be playing the heck out of Yakuza 3 Remastered as it is one of the best remasters of one of the best games ever made (still have Yakuza 4 and 5 to dip in
@MightyDemon82 Yeah I love all the plot twists that it had especially the ending but I also feel like they could've have added more time for character development, still really good movie especially for RPG players
Nothing has been keeping my attention lately other than Dragon Quest VIII on the 3DS, so that’s what I’m playing. It’s a fantastic game.
@777Reigns yeah it’s a game I tried many times to complete and never managed to make a dent in it so it was a real personal mission to push through this time. I’m going to pick up Neverwinter Nights when the cost comes down, I heard it’s riddled with bugs so I’m not paying full price... but it’s another one of those games I just have to cross off the list.
@GKO900 I thought the same could have done with more character development and some sequences were skipped entirely like getting the Dragon orb then cut straight to flying on back of the dragon, overall though I enjoyed it and the ending was fantastic!
Mix of Dragon Age Origins and GTA5. Also been playing Human Fall Flat, that is a weird game. Might do a Sniper Elite 4 mission too maybe.
For the first time in a long time, I have nothing to play! I beat death stranding last night. For anyone that's on the fence about it, just get it. While I wouldn't give it a ten out of ten, it certainly deserves a play through. Kojima must have taken some serious LSD to come up with that storyline!! But really, it's worth it, if not just to see how the story unfolds. Halfway through the game I was questioning why the hell I was still playing it, but as others have said, once the story opens up, things really get going and before you know it the credits are rolling. Amazing.
I'll probably hit GameStop and find a game or two to keep me entertained until April rolls around, then I won't be able to keep up with the new releases and my job. Things really pick up for me in the spring, especially after a LONG, COLD winter.
Some more yakuza 0, it's so bloody good! Love the contrast between substories and main chapters. Very tempted to just go ahead and buy kiwami 2 in the sale. More skyrim too. I really enjoyed fallout 4 (and still have the dlc to play) but skyrim sits a clear level above that for me. Everything about the world is more coherent. Finally my local CEX got a copy of dragon age origins so cant wait to give it a shot.
I've got three POWGI games I wanna finish up, then Drowning. Once those easy games are done, then back to Wonder Boy Dragon's Trap and The Witcher 3. Maybe some ToeJam too
Played Apex Legend with friends till 3am this morning then went on to stream 2hrs of What Remains of Edith Finch. Very intriguing game that one. But this weekend I want to Start either Detroit, GoW 2018 or both.
Darksiders: genesis which I'm really enjoying and a bit of Borderlands 3 to finish collecting the valentine's event items.
No video games for me today, but I will be gaming. Table Top Dungeon and Dragons and in between that, XFL week 2
Mostly judgement. As the main story picks up i’ve been spending less and less time doing side missions and in the arcade. Probably about 90% of the way through the main story now.
Also spent about 20 minutes playing Tetris.
Assassins Creed 2 for the first time! The story telling is absolutely 'fantastico', and it's a shame that games today are not the same story wise.
@Link41x
My Gollum self: Gets out of here, phone boy, we hates the phones games!
My Smeagol self: Welcome, friend!
@Turismo4GT I just want to get through my last remaining Windows Phone games as the store has now closed and I want to feel like I didn't totally waste my money ya know?
@777Reigns yep hardest game I have ever played. The first boss took me about 100 time to kill it
Playing and loving Shenmue 1. I think it absolutely amazing. I never played the original version on Dreamcast.
This is the best game I played in a while and what a time to discover it, with Shenmue 2 on the disc and Shenmue 3 in the shops.
@Arugula
It absolutely is wtf! It's really hard to put that experience into words. But now that it's over, I do kind of miss it! It's certainly not my favorite game ever, but I'm really happy I took the leap and played it. I can tell you I will never be playing another game where you play delivery boy though haha.
Xfl, eh, not for me. I've tried to get into college ball, arena ball, xfl, all of it, but I'm just all about NFL. But I have heard good things about the pace of the xfl this year and how people are loving the game speeds.
As far as something new to play, IDK! I've kinda been eyeing that new star wars game which is weird cause I hate star wars and Star trek with a passion. Just not for me. But the gameplay to that game looks really good! I'm open to suggestions though. Some of my favorite games are (in no particular order)
God of war PS4
Madden
Horizon zero Dawn
Spiderman PS4
The last of us
Rainbow six siege
Far cry series
Uncharted 4
Days gone
Resident evil
Battlefield 4
Rdr2
Anything crash bandicoot
There's just a few if you have any suggestions for me!
@Link41x I get you bro, was just trying to be funny. Gaming is gaming, regardless of platform. Hope you get through with them.
@TheArt
I am exactly the same, I kind of 'role play' my 3rd person games, it always broke my immersion if I ran everywhere all the time in video games too. 😄
@Lovespuds I remember San Andreas, when CJ became the CEO of the Last Venturas Casino but kept running around the casino like an idiot. I think that was the point R* knew the had to ditch the run by default thing.
2nd play through of south park fbw for the token experience and platinum maybe a few games of fifa in a bit. Good times 😀
@Arugula
Thanks for the suggestions! I haven't played a tomb raider since back on PS1 and PS2! Way overdue to try another. Infamous and deus ex I've tried and they just didn't click! I played assassin's Creed unity about a year ago and gave up after halfway. It was sooooo slow and boring. But I'd really like to try another some day. Seems like everyone is playing them and thoroughly enjoying them. Definitely feels like I'm missing out on something. Control looks interesting. Also, why haven't I played the witcher 3 yet!?!? I never really got around to picking that up and it is often overlooked in my head and I don't know why as it is always talked about as one of the best PS4 games
Been trying out Dreams and what an amazing thing it is. It's a game, it's a tool, it's a what? I dunno but it has definitely hooked me. Also will be getting into episode 3 of Division 2 this weekend.
Yakuza 5 Remastered. I was really enjoying it till I hit Haruka's part.
I just can't bring myself to care about this section of the game.
@Arugula This game depends on ur taste a lot and also depends on whether u r a witcher fan or not. Basically the whole game is playing Gwent and watching cool art styled cutscenes to know more about The Witcher lore. Feels perfect on Switch and if u hadnt tried it I aggresively recommend to.
@TheArt A PlayStation controller has an analog stick that is capable of registering both small and large movements. I’ve always found the most intuitive when if you want to walk or move slowly you push the analog stick forward a little bit and if you want to run at top speed you push it right to the rim.
If you are able to increase or decrease speed with a button press. I would much rather it be a toggle rather than having to hold down to either walk or run.
@NYJetsfan123 Hate Star Wars?! GTFO of here.
😡
Only kidding, it's all good bro.
😉
Days Gone is my recommendation.
@Ryall Yes I'm aware in all those games, tilting the left stick allows you to walk but trust it's more work than tapping a button to run. I don't think most people even use the tilt, they end up running all over which gives the gamer some false sense of urgency and further makes those games look more like delivery, errands or fetch quests games.
@MJKatana I hope it doesn't take me that long...lol. Just getting to the 2nd boss on the boat.
@Col_McCafferty
I know! I'm surprised the pitchforks didn't come out and I am still alive! I have nothing against it, I just personally can't stand it haha.
Days gone was awesome! I beat it around November or December. I really wish there were more open world zombie games
Same as last week promotions on PvZ Battle for Neighborville & plat clean up on Darksiders 3. I hope to have Darksiders done in the next week. Fun free game. PVZ will take a few weeks to get all 20 classes to 5*.
@NYJetsfan123 Cool. Sounds like you've played most of the same games that I have. The Tomb Raider reboot trilogy is pretty darn good and if you're only going to play one Assassin's Creed game then I'd recommend Odyssey. This a very good game in it's own right and doesn't demand you have a deep knowledge of the AC mythos.
Replaying Manic Miner again
