After months of speculation and an unfortunate leak earlier today, Call of Duty: Warzone has been officially unveiled to the world. The Battle Royale mode launches on PlayStation 4 tomorrow and it's a free download for everyone -- you do not appear to require a PlayStation Plus subscription. Even better, you don't need to own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in order to play. This is a completely free-to-play game.
Going live at 12:00 PDT/15:00 EDT/19:00 GMT for everyone, those who do own Infinity Ward's first-person shooter will get up to four hours of early access to the experience, which is split into two different modes. Battle Royale is the traditional take on the genre as 150 players battle it out for the top spot while Plunder tasks you with gathering as much cash as possible by collecting it across the map, killing other players, and completing Contracts.
Warzone's most interesting mechanic is the Gulag, a place where players can fight for the right to respawn. The Activision blog explains: "Upon your first elimination, you will be taken as a “Prisoner of Warzone” and thrown into the Gulag. There you will await your fate and watch other prisoners fight to the death. When your turn is up, you’ll enter the Gulag and face-off against a single opponent in a 1v1 to earn the ultimate reward - redeployment. Win in the Gulag and earn redeployment back into Verdansk. Lose and hope that your squad completes Contracts and earns enough in-match Cash to redeploy you." Fascinating stuff indeed.
It's a 83-101 GB download for those who don't own Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, while players who do will have to grab 18-22 GB of data before playing. That brings the overall client close to a ludicrous 200GB. Are you going to check out Call of Duty: Warzone tomorrow? Drop into the comments below.

Knowing it's completely free-to-play (no PS+ required), I will, of course, give it a whirl for the sake of curiosity.
Probably won't stick with it though.
Not gonna lie, kinda want to check it out but 80-100gb? Haha sucks for those who have a data ca- oh that's me :/
I would happily check it out but at that size? Yeah no thanks, i've barely got much space as it is and what i do have is being kept for Nioh 2 and Doom.
I hope i don't have to download a patch for this to continue playing modern warfare online. The game file is already massive and I'm not interested in battle royale modes
Will definitely give this a try, doubt it'll keep me for very long but can't beat the price!
LL cool J!...can't wait to give this a try they got so much right with MW hopefully they can continue that with Warzone...said it before still plenty of room in the BR market for something that's been done well
I'll stick with apex
Interesting. It looks fun. But HOW BIG? I have a host of paid releases already on the way staking a claim for my hard drive space. Im not sure i can justify the download
no thanks for one it's far too big and second i don't really feel like having a bunch of 12 year olds telling me how they was with my mother last night
Yeah I'm interested to try it, maybe just for a couple of match like fortnite before I'm uninstalling it, I don't think I ever finished the training mission in apex legend lol.
I don't know...I'm kinda interested but to be honest no ther battle royale will beat fortnite.
I tried PUBG on psnow and damn that game sucks so much lol
Good lord 80-100gb?! That's absurd! Do companies even TRY to optimize anymore?!
@RawnDawn
Me too! 100GB to test something out is madness considering my data cap is 200GB a month.
Will this mode be cross-platform?
