What’s possible in PlayStation 4 exclusive Dreams? Perhaps we should ask what isn’t possible at this point. Talented creator BadRobo82 has been attracting attention all weekend with some staggeringly photorealistic scenes, with the below river sequence proving particularly popular. At times, it’s genuinely difficult to tell whether this is real-life or in-game footage – it’s frankly unfathomable to think it was crafted with a DualShock 4.
This isn’t the first kind of photorealistic scene that BadRobo82 has built, as the below forest scene demonstrates similar attention to detail.
Of course, it’s not just the general public who have been wowed – employees at developer Media Molecule have also been astounded by what’s on display here. “Holy sh*t, dude,” said communications chief Abbie Heppe. “Wait, what?” added community manager Tom Dent.

Genuinely amazed, and to amaze the developers is some task, bravo!!
Are these im engine assets he is using or is there something im missing? Can you create and import things into dreams? Or is this all made strictly with the dreams toolset
@Nyne11Tyme It's strickly made in the Dreams toolset, there is no way to import things into Dreams.
Part of me thinks it's a PR hoax and it's actually real, just shot using an ooooold camera to explain the grainy jumpy resolution. There's no way it's not real.
@SnowTiesAreCool At one point in the forest one, the player bumps into a tree and is pushed off the model in the way you’d expect a game to. It’s Dreams but mindblowing.
Sort of reminds me of the first time I played P.T., and the photorealism of the visuals just blew me away. This is stunning.
I wonder if people are actually working on longer form projects in Dreams? I guess it's probably possible to make just about anything.
Looks just like Red Dead Redemption 2 to me.
My only gripe with Dreams was motion control of course thats all in the past now Media Molicule your the best 10/10.
BadRobo82 should design in games incredible stuff.
VR please...that would be awesome too!
HOW. JUST HOW.

@SnowTiesAreCool You can see the textures on the ground drawing into greater detail as the camera moves forward and lessening in detail as it moves back. It's a great effort for sure, and I'd love to see how the PS5 will make this look even better.
How is this even possible?!?!
@At0rasu amazing. Thanks
@SnowTiesAreCool You can see floor textures popping in in the first video. Also if you look closely at the leaves they don't have the same fractal effect or detaild that a HD camera would pick up from real greenery. Other than that, though, it's insanely good.
After spending the last month making music went back to the sculpting and it's absolutely nails.
Respect to the creator.
Ground textures are a little muddy
@Ralizah same, i was just commenting on his yt vid saying "HORROR GAME. NOW" lol
As in make a freakin horror game!
Someone's getting a job offer
@LukeNI lol +1 from me 😂😂😂
On topic: I know "incredible" is an overused word, but this really defies belief, and shows both the insane abilities of this guy and the extreme flexibility and potential of Dreams. Hats off.
Almost forgot: '“Holy sh*t, dude”, said communications chief' is an awesome sentence out of context 😂
Im in his dreams channel and am not seeing either of these in his creations... Theres other stuff thats similar but no where near the realism as these.. Hmm
@Gmork___ Probably just hasn't published this as playable yet.
Pretty cool, but can you transform into a shark, roll down the hill to the water, and then eat a seal? Edith Finch remains unimpressed. 😋
April Fools already?!?! WOW! That is INCREDIBLE AMAZING Stuff
Well puff me up the duff. Looks quite good!
A manager said "wait, what!?" He's a manager?
I spend about twenty hours on dreams, just to find myself making an ugly looking cube...how do you go from ugly cube to hyper realistic forest?
