You read that right, WRC 9 is the latest game confirmed to be in development for PlayStation 5. Publisher Nacon (formerly Bigben Entertainment) has just announced the latest entry in the officially licensed series, and it's hooning it onto next-gen.
The game is also getting a PS4 version, which is due for release on 3rd September 2020. Right now, there's obviously no release date set in stone for the PS5 iteration, but it seems like it will be an early game you can pick up for your new console.
Last year's WRC 8 wasn't bad, and the sequel is said to feature "multiple improvements and new features for rally gaming fans". The new game is set to include three new rallies -- Japan, New Zealand, and Kenya -- as well as an improved career mode and refined simulation. Sadly, the announcement trailer above doesn't feature any gameplay, but it's exciting nonetheless to hear of one more confirmed PS5 game.
Are you excited for WRC 9? Will you strap in on PS5, or are you happy to nab the PS4 version? Drift into the comments below and let us know.

Eh, not really bothered by this one.
Excellent news to have a rally game confirmed for the next gen. I've played a couple of WRC's, they're good fun and act as a counterpoint to the more hardcore Dirt Rally.
It's beginning!
They’re actually fun games so that’s nice. Played them a bit on Vita and had a rally good time.
There is a split second of gameplay in the trailer i'm sure of it.
Always interested to try a new Rally game, though I'm yet to find one as playable as SEGA Rally on the Saturn.
Gameplay looks so realistic omg...
Cooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool
WRC8 is a blast, in some ways better than DR2, so I'm looking forward to it
Imagine what Codemasters will create for PS5. It's getting serious. 🤯
WRC games have been a bit so so but they have consistently improved over the years. Cool to see another ps5 game announced. If it's there at launch I may consider it!

That it is. Looking forward to what’s in store this next Gen. After playing RE3 remake yesterday on PS4 and seeing how amazing that game looked. I can’t wait to see and hear how great these PS5 games are going to feel to play. And yes I shat myself when Nemesis finally attacked me in the demo and I’m not ashamed to admit it. He’s so much faster than mr hat man in res 2 remake.
