If there’s one good thing coronavirus may bring, it’s more people caring about their personal hygiene. While there’s very little that we, as individuals, can do about the spread of this dangerous disease – we can at the very least keep ourselves clean. As such, this official PlayStation hand sanitizer – posted on Reddit by the appropriately named Owwmyfingers – feels particularly pertinent right now.
The 15ml bottle was handed out to attendees at PlayStation Experience a few years back, and is 62 per cent alcohol so should be effective in the fight against COVID-19. It’s one of those interesting pieces of paraphernalia, alongside the PlayStation branded spring water we glugged a couple of summers ago.

That 62% alcohol might also be the only thing getting me through the next few months. That, and the crate of Heinz beans and sausages.
I have one of those bottles still, from a 2015 Playstation Experience I think.
Lol...sanitizer is antibacterial, that doesn't do anything yo prevent catching a virus. Even pouring water over your hands and wiping them with a clean cloth is more efficient!
@Adol_Xin alcohol kills covid-19, im pretty sure ive read that.
@ellsworth004 ah, i see that now on CDC website as well! In The Netherlands that isnt shared yet by the government !
@ellsworth004 I just searched on google drinks with 100% alcohol and got this Spirytus Delikatesowy. If I drink it I get full immunity
@Bush not sure about immunity but you'll certainly be brain dead. But then again if you even thought for a second that drinking 100% alcohol might be a good idea then it sounds like you're possibly brain dead already.
Having to self isolate at the moment, while waiting to find out if I've got it, so the PlayStation is certainly getting a hammering. Been using hand sanitizer, as well as washing, so hopefully, even if I have it, I haven't passed it on to anyone else.
You would think that more people care about their personal hygiene but I spotted somebody waltz out the toilet the other day without washing their hands after taking a wizz!
Is this their answer to the Xbox body wash? I'll just stick to Purell for my hands and Imperial Leather in the shower.
@ralphdibny I see this all the time and it really bothers me. Whenever I go into a public toilet, it seems like 9 out of 10 men don't wash their hands. Virus or not, that's disgusting.
@Jake3103 This is why wherever I work, I use my own cup, make my own drinks and wash my own utensils. People are filthy. The amount of fecal matter present on office cutlery can make your stomach turn.
@Jake3103 it's unpleasant but unfortunately it's just how people are. I know there's something to be said for dirt giving a natural boost to the immune system but I still wash my hands a lot, even slyly after somebody insists on shaking my hand to greet me.
I can't change other people and in many ways it's not fair to put it on them so I just do my best to stay clean myself!
Playing video games is an excellent distraction from the real world's outrageous panic. Apart from, I'm at that bit where Mr Morgan is gonna keel over soon and I'll probably tie it into the real world by pretending it was caused by COVID-19 😮🙄😆
@Eldritch Anything over 80% is deadly. it's a gaming joke if you've ever played an rpg.
