With E3 2020 cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus situation, a lot of publishers have been looking into other ways to spread the message about their upcoming games this summer. "Digital events" seem to be the way to go, but Bethesda says that it won't be following the trend.
"Given the many challenges we're facing due to the pandemic, we will not host a digital Showcase in June," Bethesda marketing boss Pete Hines posts on Twitter.
However, our hopes of getting a potential glimpse at The Elder Scrolls VI and Starfield aren't quite dead. Hines continues: "We have lots of exciting things to share about our games and look forward to telling you more in the coming months."
Were you hoping for a Bethesda digital showcase this summer? Ponder Pete's words in the comments section below.

Probably for the best, this way instead of having negative press, they’ll have no press.
Something to be thankful for, right there.
i think it's less to do with the current health situation and more that they don't have anything to show
either that or the games run and look like crap because they refuse to update their game engine or use a new one
Maybe they will throw some of their E3 stuff into the PS5 reveal of Xbox digital event.
Tells me it waz FO76 heavy with a teaser for ES6, nothing on Starfield maybe something about what iD is up to and maybe Dishonored news?
Less money to spend on hiring people in the audience to cheer enthusiastically. They're probably sighing with relief right now.
It's not that long ago most people would have been gutted no event is planned. How quickly times change. A prime example of how to go from hero to zero.
Thank god. We don't need another disaster like their E3 2019 conference.
I'm sure they'll find another way to communicate that microtransactions are coming to Doom Eternal later this month.
Their soulless lineup would just get everyone too down in this day and age.
With nothing to show and credibility in the dirt, probably for the best. And with the Corona crisis, they probably can't spare fellow employees to shout and clap in the background after every minor comment
Oh hell no I was looking forward to this show in 16x the detail and hope it would be 4x bigger than fall.... E3 2019
And with no audience they can't plant there own staff to scream over the top when the person in stage announces the 3rd word in a sentence
Not until Todd steps down and leaves ☠️
