This author’s Dad enjoys the alternate history Assassin’s Creed stories but doesn’t have the patience to play the games. The surprisingly decent novels have been his gateway to the series, then, and he’ll be thrilled to learn that upcoming Viking edition Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will have its own book, published by Penguin Random House and penned by Matthew J. Kirby.

Kirby previously wrote Assassin’s Creed: The Last Descendants, which expanded upon the series’ contemporary plot beats, and revealed more about the Animus. Pre-orders for the new novel are expected to open in the coming days.

so guessing this is gonna be like the Odyssey one and be the actual proper story
remember when the story used to be in the games?
don't get me wrong i enjoy the RPG mechanics but if there is a canon character and a canon story then put it on the game, even if it's as a separate mode or something
i feel this is a side affect of adding character and dialogue choices
also pre-order is already live on Amazon UK
I will say that I read a few of the books and they were not bad, but honestly I'd rather they tried to make books for the ones that suck like the psp game or the ds ones those things are barely playable.
I do love a good assassins creed book so I'll probably read this at some point...
This got me to wondering who writes the games. Turns out its a chap called Derby McDevitt on this one, returning from Black Flag and Revelations. This made me more excited than anything else shown thus far as the writing in the last two was pee poor.
Dude, I just bought AC Odyssey and now there’s a new game?!
I really enjoy these. Have to pick this one up. What happened to Oliver Bowden?
@FullbringIchigo I think you're expecting too much from a dead series. AC as AC is dead and gone sadly. We now have a cash cow that doesn't care about being cohesive, identity. or lore. It's gonna be a bad "AC" game no matter what.
@Jaz007 perhaps, i just find it odd that in a gaming series with such a large lore that the last game and this new one are technically none canon
Although saying that the previous story line involving Juno was finished in a comic book and not the games so maybe it really isn't a gaming series anymore
