The folks over at Lets Go Digital have gone and done it again. After taking inspiration from the PlayStation 5 devkit and the official DualSense controller to create an incredibly stylish mock-up of what the PS5 console could look like, the team has now released a new variation on the colour. Using the same design as before, the mock-up can now be seen in black and it looks better than ever.
As soon as the PS5 DualSense controller was revealed, the community quickly got to work on their own designs and twists on the colours used so it was only a matter of time before the images you see below were created.
We may not be treated to too many of these fanmade mock-ups, however. With credible rumours swirling of a PS5 reveal event next month, we may finally get to see the official next-gen design for ourselves before too long. Do you hope it looks something like this? Let us know in the comments below.

I'm getting sick of seeing mock-ups, and I'm getting sick of seeing news sites commenting on - literally - fan art as if it's something newsworthy.
@Nickolaidas "Do not post - unless you have something useful to say; Only post when you have something meaningful to say or something that will contribute to the discussion."

@LiamCroft I think that stating that useless articles like this one getting tiresome is quite contributing to the site's quality, to be honest.
Maybe instead of getting butthurt, you should take the criticism to heart?
Pls show us the real console SONY!
@SlimDrizzyLamar Samesies. No way the controller is white and black and the console be all black or all white.
I think it looks hideous, imagine that being laid down. To me it kind of looks like someone has stood an old laptop up on its end
This is getting boring now. Release the official damn thing Sony. Sick and tired of seeing mock ups.
@Nickolaidas I agree with you. I think it's fine to post mock ups and such, but there is a point where it becomes tiresome, also it's more likely to rile people up at this point, as anticipation hits fever pitch.
Would be in everyones best interest to post articles with meaningful PS5 related news at this point rather than than further aggravate people with mock ups and rumours.
@JoeBlogs That's one way to deal with it. Personally, I like to comment on both the good as well as the bad.
@JoeBlogs I've never understood this mentality.
If people have an opinion, it should be ok to voice it. You don't have to agree with it, but it's also nice to see that other people are in agreeance with your perspective.
Outright telling people not to click on articles on a news site is a bit absurd in my opinion. After all, it's what we're here for, news....
Hi Some of you are frustrated by posts like these. I get it; I'm getting kinda bored of seeing these things too. The thing is, a lot of our readers do actually like to check out mock-ups like this, and given how quiet the news cycle can be at the moment, these stories are keeping everyone going. We're a PlayStation-focused site, at the end of the day — we're going to cover as much as we can, especially where PS5 is concerned.
Of course, we welcome all feedback. If you do have a legitimate complaint, however, we'd appreciate it if you could get in touch with us via the contact form rather than through comments sections like this one. Constructive criticism is fine, but it can often derail comment threads, which is exactly what's happened here.
I know there's some frustration around right now as we're all sitting around waiting for Sony to drop an atomic bomb of news on us (not to mention most of us are cooped up indoors). But we would ask that you bear with us, treat us and each other with respect, and keep the comments on topic.
Let's now please leave this discussion here and get the comments back on track. Again, if you want to air your grievances with us or our content, please email us about it. Thanks everyone.
@JoeBlogs I get that it's hard times right now, and it's not easy writing up current newsworthy articles.
I think without heating this debate up unnecessarily, some people are just voicing their frustrations about unnewsworthy PS5 articles.
I can only say what I think personally, and that would be that I think a lot of people would prefer articles based on historical gaming, or interesting factoids outlaying collated data, or interactive polls. I know Push Square are doing some of this already, which is great, because it's gets people talking.
These articles, however, i feel end up causing frustration. That's my honest opinion.
Also, I don't think anyone has been rude here, or inpolite. Brutally honest maybe.
@JoeBlogs More polite? Dude, you should check out reddit.
At any rate, there is nothing wrong with a slow news day (or week or month - thanks, Corona!), but I feel the particular topic (PS5 mock-ups) has been done to DEATH. I must have seen about 10 different articles about 'what the PS5 is NOT going to look like'.
Not only is a legitimately poor topic to make a discussion on (I mean, what is there to discuss?) but it is also one that has overstayed its welcome, by a lot too.
@JoeBlogs @Grindagger @Nickolaidas Please see above. Thanks all.
@Sebatrox Let's have a news article about it!
ahem
"SOAPBOX: Sebatrox does not really like the new PS5 mock-up design" (Subtitle: not a fan)
@Quintumply If you guys are willing to (help us) pass the time, how about a couple of polls? Like, "Which PS5 game are you looking forward to the most", or "what do you want to see in the new PS5 in terms of features", or "do you see the PS5 becoming a jet engine with such high clocks - yes or no?" or something.
This will give plenty of comments and may also give a couple of good ideas to share with each other too.
I don't like Black color for video games.
It looks too mainstream for me.
I love White color for video games.
It looks very kiddie and innocent like kid's toy. ☺
I will wait for a Beautiful White PS5 Slim.
@Quintumply how about a TV guide about the upcoming PS5?
I like the mock ups, I check this site daily if not a few times a day to see if its been updated, so anything for me is good cos its something else to look at, I love PlayStation so I don't mind. Not everyone agrees with posting something that seems like a repeat but its great to see active news and people posting to everyone not just to a few people.
It's good but too much like ps4 pro, I want new design like ps1 to ps2 to ps3 to ps4, etc.
@Nickolaidas I have a lot of times at home now because of this lockdown, I rather reading news about ps5 fan mockup rather than nothing at all. Just don't click it if you're not interested in the news.
@hoffa007 Thanks for reading, and thanks for all the helpful suggestions with regards to content. Obviously we love hearing your ideas and opinions about the kind of things you'd like to read/talk about, so that's great!
@Nickolaidas
Or they could provide more immediate relief and celebrate what is currently available rather than slowly, and painfully wait for news during a period where weeks feel like months.
Make articles like "Games to revisit/begin during the lock down", "best multiplayer games to get the gang back together", "best isolation/outbreak games.
@get2sammyb you are welcome, always good to see new articles. I prefer it in black to the white one. Just hope they bring out a black controller with coloured buttons and the ps button is the iconic colours that would be great. Keep up the good work not just yourself but everyone on the site 😃
#LetsGoPsychical
Original controller looks way better.
So white and black console to match would be great.
People have the right not to click on and read articles they do not care for, some just do not have the ability too not click on and read them!
A new generation deserves to be unique and have the ability to have its own attributes. I am all for the black and white color change and a new console design.
Mine won't be in the same room as me so it can be whatever shape or colour it wants to be.
I can see why people wouldn't have any interest in more mock up's, but I can also follow the "just don't click it" argument. What bothers me more than this, is the rising tendency to write ever so slightly misleading headlines lately.
All these mock ups look too similar to the PS4 imo.
Looks broken and ugly lol yuck
@Anti-Matter How can a colour be 'too mainstream'? We're talking about a PlayStation. Buy an Ouya if you want something that's not mainstream
@Octane
When you look at electronic devices color, it almost 99% are Black color.
Almost very rare to see electronic devices with White color as their default color.
Mostly adult male gamers choose Black console because Black color represent maturity, fierce looking and elegant.
But, i always choose White console as oppose the mainstream peoples did because for me White color represent Innocent, Kiddie looking, Rare looking and Rebelious. Why Rebelious ? Because i did the opposite as the mainstream male gamers did.
@Anti-Matter So if everyone bought a white console, you would buy a black one?
@Octane
No.
I still choose White color.
White color will always by my choice regardless of people choices.
Never like Black color console, even i still dislike the color of my Black Wii U.
I wish i have White Wii U instead...
Actually, i have another favorite colors too.
White, Silver, Aquamarine, Tosca Green and Indigo Blue. The colors of Cold temperatures.
@Nickolaidas Well, at least they're not on Kotaku's level yet 🤣
@Matroska HAHAHHAAAAAAA!!
LIAM!! ALL IS FORGIVEN!! HAHAHAHAHHAAAA!!
@LiamCroft How was anything he said useless? It's more useful than these fan mock up articles you keep posting.
Spinal Tap would admire this version...'none more black'.
I pray for the day I never see PS5 mock-up articles ever again. I think everyone has done one of these because this is the fifth time I'm seeing this same design.
Everyone's problem with these mock up articles isn't that they exist (well yes at this point its this too to some degree) but it's because of the clickbait and the fact that now for like the 10th time an article has fooled me into clicking on an article by not exactly telling me it's just some mock up by some fanboy.
If you maybe spelled it out up front instead of after the rss break maybe as many wouldn't be pissed when they end up here to see yet another let's go digital crappy render.
I did re-read the title of your article and now see you used "mockup" in the title bitbi guess it's just now after the 10th one your brain goes on autopilot hoping it's actually something useful (and sorta knowing it won't be).
Just maybe cut back on them or just spell it out VERY CLEARLY.
"Yet ANOTHER fan made concept..."
Something like that.
