The settlement you'll be coming back to time and time again forms an important part of the experience in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Situated in England, the game's creative director has given us a quick glimpse of what to expect when we get our hands on the cross-gen PlayStation 5 title later this year. Ashraf Ismail states that this is a screenshot of the stunning English countryside where you'll be setting up shop and giving your family a home.
Detailed in a tweet, he provides context by saying: "Spend a lazy Sunday fishing at the docks, consult with your war chief, or check on your people. Home is where the heart is." We don't mind if we do, Ashraf. It has been confirmed that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will feature mini-games such as fishing, while the homestead will form the centrepiece of the decisions you make throughout the game. In a recent Eurogamer interview, it was also mentioned that weddings can take place while relationships can be forged between clans. You'll also be able to upgrade the settlement with barracks, a tattoo parlour, and a blacksmith.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla is, of course, set in the past, but doesn't England still look like when you take a look out the window? Convince us that's true in the comments below.

Beautiful! Looks like a painting...
A yo people actually think the game is going to end up looking like that screenshot because we know Ubisoft never uses souped up screenshots and definitely doesn't downgrade graphics in the final product.
Looks like a John Constable.
This all sounds really fun. I like the little metagames in grander adventures like these.
just as much game play in this as there was in the game play trailer
all joking aside that is a damn nice picture, looks almost like a canvas painting
i honestly would hang this up in my living room
@eumenes if you’ve played ac origins or odyssey it has the same graphics
Cool.word up son
I’m still waiting for Assassin’s Creed: Acts of the Apostles. I hear Judas was a bad mo fo!
@eumenes true, Watch Dogs was one of the worst offenders. I think Ubi have learnt from that though and don’t cheat graphics as much as they used to...
Seems that Ubisoft developers must have enjoyed RDR2
I wonder if you can also wander around picking up weeds and shaking trees for furniture at your hometown.
Looking forward to it.
Reminds me of the homestead idea from AC3. Nice.
Where I live yes it does
