Fortnite isn't just a Battle Royale shooter anymore. More and more, it's turning into a multimedia platform, crossing streams with other entertainment industries several times. We've had many music concerts, including the recent Travis Scott event, there have been lots of crossovers with major movies like Avengers, and now we're even seeing film trailers playing in-game.
Yes, the latest trailer for Tenet, the next action flick from director Christopher Nolan, just had its debut within Fortnite's Party Royale mode. You can see what it looked like in-game via the above video from GameSpot. With the world unable to view the trailer in movie theatres, Nolan and Epic Games collaborated to bring the video to the game as a "next best thing".
Interestingly, that's not quite the end of the story. It's also been revealed that another Nolan movie -- a full-length film from the director -- will play in its entirety within Fortnite this summer. It's not known which of his films will play, but that's pretty crazy.
What do you make of this? Are you a fan of how Fortnite is evolving? Do you want more synergy between this game and other entertainment? Drop into the comments section below.

We need a new Playstation Home and slap a cinema in that so we can watch movies and sports together, even have picture in picture if you want to play games at the same time
I think it will be cool if some movies debut in fortnite and we can see it together with friends, it has been a couple of months since I go to theatre with friends 😕
@carlos82 Yeah, playstation home with theatre and coin-up arcade seems good, maybe $1 psn money for 10 arcade coins to get that feelings of playing arcade games of old 😃
Oooh I didn't even know there's an upcoming Nolan movie, great news!
I still really dislike Fortnite though, lol
Read this as tencent the movie.
Film looks good, but i dunno, i dont really get debuting it in fortnite. I want to enjoy trailers without little heart things being flung at the screen
As for the nolan film being screened, smart money would be on batman - possibly linked to a deal between epic and warner brothers concerning the new batman game
Sometimes, I despair for humanity.
Graphic looks nice, very lifelike with realistic animation and physics. Looks like a mixture of quantum break and control. Performance seems terrible since I heard it runs between 24 and 48fps. Will look more into this 🤣🤣
This reminds me of stuff from PlayStation Home. Specifically J.J. Abrams talking about the Star Trek remake from 2009 along with a trailer. I remember loads of people running around in Star Trek uniforms in PS Home too.
Yeah this is very PS Home. Sony was way ahead of the curve there.
The entire World is glued to their screens - and we keep getting the worst reveals possible -
No love for Fortnite (nor hate really as it doesnt affect my life in any way whatsoever) but plenty for Nolan. This film looks great and I'm looking forward to seeing it.....eventually.
I think mid-July is too soon, sorry Chris. I think August should be ruled out as well. Either release it later in the Autumn/Winter or next summer.
All the cool kids are here to say how they don’t like Fortnite I see.
@wiiware I think it would be a lot of fun, we could have a Pushsquare lobby to chat and play games
I see folks are just as annoying in virtual cinemas as real ones, then.
@Fandabidozi Mate, for starters not everyone on here is a kid!
Secondly, you think every other game is universally loved on here?! Lots of games receive plenty of shade, why should Fortnite be any different?
Another pathetic reveal - the entire World is glued to their screens and this is the bs content we keep receiving - it just shows you how dumb most of the decision makers are
@carlos82 Yeah, that's good idea, it will be cool if sony stream games trailers on fortnite too and we can watch it on pushsquare lobby 😃
If you swerved the creeps then Playstation Home was pretty cool. I remember watching a Paramour music vid in the cinema it had.
@Fandabidozi if those are the cool kids, those like you who complain about people who dislike Fortnite are the even cooler kids?
Two of my least favourite things, Nolan and Fortnite. Just add Marmite and I’ll be a nervous wreck.
@Col_McCafferty
Oh, I didn’t mean you obviously.
@nessisonett How can you not like Nolan? He's one of the best directors out there.
@WallyWest Because movies are subjective and he’s a master of supreme wankery. He thinks he’s Kubrick or Tarkovsky but his movies really aren’t all that cerebral. Even Darren Aronofsky is a far better director even if his movies are extremely hit and miss. Memento is a good movie but I’m not a fan of his Batman movies, Inception is 2 hours of my life I’m not getting back, The Prestige is OK but nothing more and let’s not forget that he co-wrote Man of Steel, the most beige movie of all time.
I plan to watch this movie on 4K at home...refuse to step foot inside a movie theater until a COVID vaccine had been made AND distributed to most of the global population.
Hey more power to people trying new ideas, it’s great!
Not a fan of Nolan’s films personally but it’s a cool idea.
