Little Town Hero is coming to PlayStation 4 next month, which means it's time to learn more about the former Nintendo Switch exclusive. In a new trailer, developer Game Freak has detailed the game's combat system with a three-minute deep dive. You can check it out above.
You'll be battling monsters in Little Town Hero through the use of Ideas. These appear to be special attacks which come with their own attack and defence stats, while Izzits and Dazzits seem to play a part. Honestly, we're a bit perplexed by the whole trailer and struggled to grasp what the narrator was on about. Maybe you could help us out?
Our friends over at Nintendo Life thought Little Town Hero was a pretty good game upon its Nintendo Switch launch last year, awarding it a 7/10. However, with an overall Metacritic rating of 64, they were more positive about the experience than most. Have you played Little Town Hero? Should PS4 players be excited about it? Hmm, I'm not sure whether the battle system is too convoluted, or whether it's just all the made up words making it seem more complex than it actually is.
@crimsontadpoles They definitely don't help to say the least. What a weird trailer.
Looks awful. The artstyle is hideous, & The battle system looks like tedious nonsense.
It's a cute looking game, but everything else about it seems underwhelming. I've also not heard good things about it from people who did play the Switch version at launch. I'd say to give this one a pass.
I think Baldo will be my pick once it releases.
It looks so difficult i just wont understand it without taking notes and i just dont feel like doing that when i game. One game comes to mind Naturel Docterine i just didnt know what to do and i gave up.
It would be nice if they add a demo...
Game is pretty mediocre, battles are drawn out WAY TOO LONG and you don't have much flexibility with your deck for the card based battle system (RNG). You only can upgrade with what you have, no customized deck building. Only plus is Toby Fox of Undertale fame was involved with the music.
I'll just watch the gameplay, no longer interested in owning/playing.
Eh, I thought the Switch version looked unappealing before launch and then watched gameplay to confirm that was indeed the case. I can see I'm not alone there.
