Mafia II: Definitive Edition and Mafia III: Definitive Edition both released digitally on the PlayStation Store earlier today, but what about a physical version for all three games? Unfortunately, there's good and bad news. Mafia: Definitive Edition, the complete remake of the original game, will be getting a physical release in the US, but it won't be joined by the franchise's second or third entries.
Available for pre-order right now over on Amazon for a price of $39.99, it'll release alongside the digital version on 28th August 2020. Publisher 2K Games has stated that there "are currently no plans to release a physical edition of Mafia: Trilogy in the Americas". You will, however, be able to get all three titles on Blu-ray in Asian and EMEA territories.

I guess a physical copy of the trilogy would require three discs?
Already have Mafia 3 (original) and was really interested in a physical of Mafia 2 (definitive). Oh well...
@get2sammyb
The remaster of Mafia 2 is 51GB, so most likely.
Will you be publishing a review for it?
I was wondering if other people also experience severe framerate drops like me?
Thank you Malaysia for helping me out with Mafia II Definitive Edition 😉 I have pre-ordered Mafia I Definitive Edition to make amends for my sins however!
Great news this is the only one of the 3 I was interested in. Will be putting in a pre-order.
I wish they did release all three in one case. Sega did it with Yakuza 3-5.
I never played three because a review I saw said it was buggy. Anyone know if these earlier games were any good?
@MUG3NHC,
51GB? That is your actual file size for the Mafia 2 remaster. I ask because the PSN store has 46.45GB and the store is often incorrect.
The PSN has these 3 games listed in 3 different prices and file sizes. Appearantly Mafia 3 is now $99 if purchased seperately and the bundle of 3 games and dlc is $60 and either 50GB or 98.17GB and is in 1080p with no mention of PRO support.
The remastered Mafia 2 is listed at $30 and in full HD. No mention of 1080p or PRO support. 46.45GB is the listed file size.
So according to one poster here the file size of Mafia 2 is actually 51GB. That is almost twice the size of my current file size of Skyrim which is 27.24GB. The first 3 Borderlands games and a ton of dlc is 44.62GB combined. Those 3 games have PRO support and are 60fps. What did they do to Mafia 2 and dlc to make it 51GB?
"You will, however, be able to get all three titles on Blu-ray in Asian and EMEA territories."
So there is a physical copy of all 3 games coming then, just not to America?
@roe That is correct! Also not coming to UK/Europe physically either though.
What a weird practice to announce a trilogy and release part 1 three months later than part 2 & 3...
@NoCode23
51GB was the file size i had to download after buying the game.
Trilogy preordered. I am looking forward to it as hell.
Malaysia generously gifting me a copy of 2... was welcome. Apparently it’s buggy as hell and you are better off with the xbox BC complete version. Or ps3 version.
I’ll give it a go later

So no Trilogy boxset in physical form? Only the original Mafia will be getting that treatment? They could've handled this better in my opinion..
Will wait for August for the physical release then after 1 will download Mafia 2.
@Rob_230 Awesome.
Effectively the success of this (and possibly future of the series) depends on how well they do the remake.
@ThirstyJessie1 I have no idea, just a silly American lol.
@Rob_230 Hopefully we'll at least get a GameStop exclusive physical/retail release in the USA...though I'd much rather order from Amazon or Best Buy if given the choice.
