Update: Mortal Kombat's official media channels have now posted the story DLC teaser, confirming that a full reveal will take place tomorrow (that's 6th May, 2020). It'll go live at 6AM Pacific time, or 2PM UK time.
Original story: Mortal Kombat 11 is getting a story expansion, apparently. The news comes via PlayStation Brazil, which posted a brief teaser trailer for the DLC on Twitter. According to the trailer itself, a reveal is set for tomorrow, the 6th May.
The timing makes sense, at least. Mortal Kombat 11's initial wave of six DLC characters was completed with the release of Spawn, so we guess this is what's next. The game's got an entertaining story mode, so hopefully this supposed expansion is of the same quality.
Are you still playing Mortal Kombat 11? Maybe you'll go back to it for this DLC? Reset the timeline in the comments section below.

I still play it on and off. I’m not a big fan of playing online PVP in fighters and the SP towers just aren’t as fun as Injustice 2s. They really overuse the modifiers in this game.
Apparently it will be called Aftermath. And it will have new characters such as Takeda, Reiko, Quan Chi and Ash Williams/Bruce Campbell.
I really got into it a while ago but FFVIIR came along and I stopped playing all other games, sadly. Hopefully I can still get back into it without feeling like I've lost all my "skills".
Didn’t they say they were fine with the MK storyline?
Updated the article.
Alternate timeline where Shang is a good guy?
Didnt see this coming! Saw a guy in a forum once talking about how his uncle works for NetherRealm and the next DLC was gonna be story. Horrible speller, no one believed him. But, turns out he was right...HE WAS RIGHT!!!
Sounds good, hopefully they announce a komplete edition at the same time, been waiting to pick this up!
The time line is so confusing now....
I hope the Terminator shows up if they keep messing with time. I'm so excited for this! The story mode is the best part of these new Mortal Kombats.
The game has 3 endings and this DLC is based off the one I didn't see. A problem solved by Youtube and five spare minutes? Sure. But it's still annoying. This is why I prefer games with one ending, or at least, make it perfectly clear which ending is the "real" one.
In spite of what I just typed, I'm actually kind of excited for this. I like Mortal Kombat 11, but I don't like going online. A fighting game with Single Player DLC? Yes, please!
Always welcome story dlc over adding new characters, but the way wb games have been handling things I always just end up waiting for komplete editions.
