Sony has just unveiled the new branding that all of its first-party studios will fall under when the PlayStation 5 rolls around later this year. PlayStation Studios is the name, with a new animation that will play after booting up all of its games. It features classic PlayStation characters such as Kratos, Nathan Drake, and Aloy, but the sequence can actually change based on the exclusive you're playing.
In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, senior vice president and head of global marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment Eric Lempel said that the introduction can be tailored to certain franchises. "The cinematic you've seen is the one that has multiple games in it. But over time, as we introduce well established franchises, we can tailor that opening a bit to possibly show the franchise over the years, new characters that have come into play... There's a lot we can do that we're really excited about."
This is a really neat, little detail which could get you hyped up for the experience you're about to embark on. Maybe the sequel to God of War could include snippets of the original trilogy, or Horizon Zero Dawn 2 may choose to highlight Aloy as a little girl. It doesn't sound like the first set of PlayStation 5 titles sporting the branding will be customised, but in the future, it may become a more common occurrence.
Which PlayStation franchises do you hope get this sort of special branding? Let us know in the comments below.

Im feeling a studio acquisition is on the cards
Nice touch. Marvel did it before, but I believe replicating a good idea is never a bad thing.
They're making me buy every one of their games to see all the silly animations, aren't they?
I hope for Bloodborne 2 the animations are just the player avatars from the first game dying to bosses over and over again.

Of course!
I was wondering why they forgot Deacon
Haven't seen it again I noticed that aside from Ratchet & Clank and Ellie clips, the others were ironically from trailers that don't actually appear in the games. Not that it matters like.
I'm sorry. I like this, and all... But "Sony breaks the silence" seems a bit too much for nothing. We're on the verge of the new generation of games, and we get this kind of news? I mean, it's cool... But whatever...
If the whole "breaks the silence" thing was supposed to be ironic, I'm sorry.
Certain Franchises Eh Like Midievil 2 Gravity Rush 3 Arc The Lad Wild Arms 6 Dark Cloud 3 Ape Escape Sly Cooper Jak And Daxter Killzone Knack And Legend Of Dragoon.
If loading times are going to be non-existent do we really need this added on to the beginning of games anymore?
