Update: As pointed out in the comments, it looks like we might have jumped the gun on this one. A browse through the Wayback Machine reveals that the PS5 tab was added to the US PlayStation Blog's menu on 20th March, shortly after Mark Cerny's tech specs speech.
Original Story: Sony made some changes to the PlayStation Blog overnight, including what appears to be a unification of its US and European iterations. Eagle-eyed fans have also noticed that a PlayStation 5 tab has been added prominently to the website’s main menu, perhaps hinting at imminent news. Currently, clicking the link takes you to a page filtered by content tagged with the next-gen system.
In isolation, this addition wouldn’t be all that interesting, but it’s perhaps worth repeating that there’s strong speculation we’ll be learning a lot more about the PS5 next week. The Japanese giant is yet to officially confirm a time and date for its long-awaited event, but we’d expect it to say something by Monday at the latest if it really has locked in 3rd June for its unveiling livestream.

I guess it was easier to rename the PS Vita tab than to remove it.
It's happening lads, this is it.
@Octane the psvita section is still there.
again it is best to set expectations on a realistic level just because sony won't reveal everything at the event.
some games but not all with gameplay for example,no price reveal either.
i'm not holding this against sony at all,but just as a warning to all those people who have a habbit of expecting way to much and than calling out sony as it's somehow their fault.
i'm thinking that we could see the console but in a render, some excusives such as bluepoint's game perhaps with gameplay as a launch game,a HZD 2 teaser,a current gen game runing on ps5 to show off load times in action, maybe a hint at what the san diego studio is making (uncharted),next gen gran turismo reveal as a launch game with some gameplay. maybe a silent hill suprise aswell.
no word on GOW2,no price reveal as they will play cat and mouse with MS for that.
i know the event is not even confirmed yet,but still putting my 2 cents on what we can see on a realisitc level.
@ShogunRok We can only dream...
This tab has been there since March or April guys. This isn't new at all lol. You can go to the archives and see that.
For a site that apparently goes to the blog for news daily It's amazing to me that you didn't know it's been there. The same goes for all those people on Era who think it's new too. No one pays attention.
@ShogunRok Not anymore so than it was the past few months. That tab has been there.
@ShogunRok let´s hope so. Really excited to see some brand new games running on the new hardware and of course those suprise announcements like the Sillent Hill reboot, the Blue Point Remake project(Metal Gear Solid would be a dream, but it´s probably Demon´s Souls) and of course, KNACK 3: Keep on Knacking on heaven´s door. And, you know, what the console actually looks like. Maybe it will be a Circle, so you guys have to chage the name of the gaming site. Just kidding. Roll on next week. Cheers and happy gaming to us all.
@Octane Ha! You beat me to it. Cheers!
@PSfan4Life22 Whoops! Thanks for the correction. I've updated the article. Genuinely never noticed it before.
Who cares about the price? We're all going to buy it either way. Just show us what that babe can do :3
@get2sammyb Yep, been noticing the redirection to the US Blog the past day or so, since at least the beginning of the week it'd been impossible to add a comment to the EU blog...bit like when the Aussie PSN blog went & defaulted to the EU one,it went without notice!
It'll be interesting given (at least for now),that what appears on the US store doesn't always corresponds to the EU(& offshoots like the AU store),releases.
Might also be partially related to the PSN finally adopting IARC classification standards &/or those cutbacks to the EU office a little while ago too.
@LN78 "Who cares about the price at the moment" would be better, sorry. But we sorta have an idea about the price range: 450-600.
Since everyone is waiting for a proper info about the console, features, games and such, I think price is the last tidbit we need to know at the moment to completely analyse the whole product and decide if it's worth.
First and foremost is getting to know at least literally anything about PS5. Therefore I don't believe as well as @jdv95 that we will get to know the price tag during this PS5 'reveal', but personally I don't have a problem with that. Let's just focus now on the good stuff
@LN78 I agree. That's right between PS4 - PS3 launch price. I hope for $500 as well, but it would be understandable if the price is higher given the HW configuration. Fingers crossed.
