May is such a weak month for new releases I was really looking forward to at least one of the two "leaked" games. I dont normally do this but I would advise people to go on social media and express your disappointment with PlayStation on this one via their official Twitter account. If the big wigs think these two games are acceptable they can think again

Probably download Cities Skylines. Haven't gotten into a city builder since SimCity 2000. Used to really enjoy the genre.

wasn't so thrilled with the first lot, no interest in soulsborne nor zombie games, second lot is definitely disappointing.. just don't see the point in two simulation games.
I hoped the real line up was something better, but I guess I won't be downloading anything this month, like last month. might give farming simulator a try at the very least.

I mean, I get it, I'm not thrilled about these games either, but seriously, the entitlement over free games is just dumb. When you pay 40-60 bucks for a year of free games, you're probably not going to like every single one of them. That's life.

I will add them both to the library as they may be good relaxing type games to mess around with. Whether I ever end up playing them is a different story but I hope some people find enjoyment in them!

Well it looks like playing Streets of Rage 4 online is my reason to have plus this month

In fairness, they were due a month of crap offerings.

I wont even bother putting this trash in my library. PS Plus has just turned into garbage. I wish they would drop the price and get rid of the free games. They barely put effort into this anymore compared to the PS3 days.

This has me worried. I feel that the worlds food supply chain is now so bad given the pandemic that authorities are making Farm Simulator a free game to teach us how to feed ourselves.

This is the most obvious "jumping on the Animal Crossing bandwagon" I've ever seen. Even more so than PSASBR as a riff on SSB.

I didn't believe the "leak" for a second but really, even if that had never happened, these 2 games were still gojng to get a lot of grief, especially after last month.

I still have a ywar of PS+ code I haven't redeemed yet, and no way no how would I do it for these 2.

Come on Sony give us some PSVR games. Astrobot, Moss, there's a bunch that haven't been on PS+ yet.

@RogerRoger I agree and have been saying this for a long time. Why give away AAA games that a large majority already owns. I would much rather these niche games or indie games I would have never tried otherwise.

I've owned 3 of the last 4 games given away and already own dark souls and dying light. Everybody absolutely praised the last two months. Now they have a down/niche month and everyone loses their minds...

Much worse than I thought it would be if the leak was false. No interest in either of these.

This is such a fall from grace, from where they were at with the last few months. We had Bioshock, Uncharted 4 and Shadow of the Colossus, and now we get two simulation games, and many people find that genre to be SO dull. I was so hyped for Dying Light, and I know I should've known the leak was too good to be true, but I'd think, to go along with the previous trend, we'd get something like Horizon Zero Dawn or even God of War, but no, FARMING SIMULATOR.

Im not one to complain and i actually nearly bought cities skylines a couple of months a go, but with Sony's in desperate need of PR wins, they must have known how farming simulator would go down 🤦🏻‍♂️

Well dying light I already own and the souls games are too hard for me so il take this over them. But for everyone else this is a weak month with two simulation games which I'm sure most gamers will find uninteresting and boring

lol I must be one of the few that's not mad about this. Two games I actually wanted to try.

I see a lot of folks here and elsewhere saying that they are not going to even add these to their library. A real quick piece of advice to all from a fellow gamer: I suggest adding every single plus game to your library, no matter how you feel about it.

It costs nothing but a few seconds of time (if you have a sub of course), and you never know when you might change your mind. When I started Plus, I did not download any games I was not interested in. This led to some regrets as my thoughts about different games or types of games changed over time. Now I add every single plus game to my library no matter what.

Chances are I won’t play most of them-I have no plans to ever touch Cities or Farming Sim. But I am still going to add them, cause you never know!

I am not trying to tell anyone what to do, just helping folks avoid my dumb mistakes!

@RogerRoger True story. I rather get some games that I usually wouldn't try for the full price. In hindsight the best time was, when PS Plus offered some indie games at launch. I almost never play the triple-A stuff from the PS Plus offerings for some reason. But I played Broforce, Grow Home or Rocket League and loved them.

I'm actually okay with these. Will be fun to give them a shot.

First the horrible TLOU2 plot and now this! Terrible month. The two games are practically the same genre. Bad Idea.

Very lackluster month for me because I’m not at all into sim games, but the alleged leaked games I have both of. I know I’m in the minority, but I wish Sony would stop focusing on AAA titles most of us already own them, instead focus on lesser known games like these (though not two sims at a time) and indies like Moonlighter, Celest and games that people are less likely to know about or have already. We get them on occasion, but I wish it was more frequent.

Got both Dying Light and Souls and as these two are on Now it does nothing for me but they are free contrary to what some say about the plus subscription, we pay that to have the servers for games maintained, this is why on ps3 online games would become obsolete and unplayable where the 360 had the same games still running, I'm happy to pay just for my online ability and the fact I can still play Black Ops III Zombies online, even the multiplayer is still going.

good month to me, i am a big cities skylines fan and have all dlcs on steam, also like 300hrs.. I prob won't be playing on PS4 due to the limitations and lack of mods, but farming simulator 19 is actually a relaxing game.

This might just be the worst month PS Plus has had so far. It makes Xbox Games with Gold look good, and their games for May are woeful too!

Neither are bad games and I’ll probably try both. They do seem to have developed a habit of providing two similar games which leads to people either liking both or not liking both.

Maybe the Leak was correct, and since Sony saw that they got leaked changed it, and now they are punishing players by releasing these two games lol.

@RogerRoger welcome to a world where there are a vast amount of different people with different opinions. In all seriousness the best choices are usually the ones like Shadow of the Colossus and Ratchet & Clank. Games that are pretty fun that some people have played, but a lot haven't.

Any choice that most people do not already own is a great choice.

@rjejr that's a bit of strech to say that Farming Simulator 2019 was chosen as the ps plus game in May when Animal Crossing came out in March. Not to mention they're two completely different games

I wasn't excited about Darksouls anyways, because I have always hated the series for the fan's mentalities (they act like spoiled lil brats). But Farming Simulator an unnamed series I never even heard of isnt exactly an improvement xD

If you already "paid" for them you may as well at least give them a shot. If you have online games you like more play them. Then its no real loss for you.

I can't say either of these immediately inspire me. That is bound to happen sometimes. If you only get 2 or 3 really good games that you enjoy a year, you get most of your money back. Getting AAA titles every month is just not realistic.

I have to admit I'm disappointed that Sony went with these 2 games. I can see living vicariously through simulators since we're ALL stuck at home but this is just too much, we deserve to have at least one AAA game for every PS PLUS offering. I've been enjoying the uncharted collection, almost done with uncharted 2 remastered! I will then complete uncharted 3 and then start the glorious adventure of uncharted 4! This is how I've been coping with staying at home lol happy gaming my friends 😉💨✌️

These past few years I've done my best to keep your fandom at an emotional distance. But when I was a wee lad I tried getting into your fandom as a result of subsequent exposure to Darksouls 1, which was my first exposé into how arriving members are treated. Several noob exchanges later and after getting my neck thoroughly rung and hung, thanks to a great number of Reddit users, I bailed. And Youtube hasn't been much kinder on depictions from the exposures I've had since. Mostly on Outside Extra/XBox's comment sections in passing conversations.

I played past the first boss, too. So it's not a matter of 'getting gud'. Its just the less than flattering encounters, with your people, I've had in the interum, since, have been more unforgiving than Deathstroke.

Many are a bit upset this month, although Sony has been providing extra games for the Stay at Home initiative. I'm ok with being in the minority. As some stated previously, I'm happy to get 2 new games that is not buy otherwise. The leak had 2 games that most of us probably already have. I've got over 200 games, many backloaded so I'm not too concerned with this selection, since many months have been nice lately. And no this is not the worst month ever was when we got the senseless Goat Simulator.

I have noticed almost no difference between my online experiance of my free online on PS3 and payed online on PS4.

But yea, these are absolutely not ''free'' games nor are they a added bonus by Sony, since PSPlus existed in PS3 for almost 4 years before PS4 and the main thing of it was the monthly games and features like automatic downloads...

Really wanted to build a great city with lots of clever traffic planning on Cities Skylines, but I found the PS4 version to be cumbersome in controls. It took me a quarter to attach some power lines to a nearby source aaaaand... that was that. Deleted.

@Bartig I thought controls were pretty decent to be honest. Of course it takes some getting used to and it's not as easy as a keyboard and mouse but it didn't bother me that much. Shame to hear because it was a great game otherwise.

@RogerRoger I personally love that they put games like these in ps plus but not 2 in the same month, I didn't really care that uncharted 4 (a game I already have) was in ps plus because I knew a lot of people just didn't have the money or didn't buy it would have the chance to play it.

Nope, not pleased at all. Both of these games are already available on PS Now, so there’s nothing new or different to experience. Plus, the idea of giving out games with “2019” in the title when we’re already a third of the way through 2020 just doesn’t elicit a sense of excitement or enthusiasm.

Note to Devs: If you’re not a sports game, don’t put a year in the title. You just make your game irrelevant and outdated when the calendar year ends. Even if it’s still the newest version of that game, there’s no need to plant those seeds of obsolescence in the minds of your gamers.

You (and a few others) have it wrong. PS+ is a service that has multiple aspects, one of those happens to be online play for certain titles. You may choose online play in those titles as your primary reason to have PS+, but others do not share that sentiment.

In fact PS+ launched years before it was a requirement for certain online titles at all; so one could say that the online aspect is just the latest feature in the PS+ service.

Personally, I have subscribed to PS+ since day one, and I couldn't care less about the PS+ required online play. I keep hoping they decide to offer tiered subscriptions (platinum, gold, etc...) to make paying for online play optional when you just want everything else!

Cities Skylines is a great game. It could use some traffic enhancements, but its a great time killer if you like sim games.

That being said, two sim games is kind of harsh, since its all or nothing if you don't like sim games at all.

I have a hard time judging the lineups. I own Cities Skylines, so I think its a great title to give away, but since I own it already, it offers 0 value to me personally. Does that make it a good month, or bad?

WT Flipping hell is sony thinking, Cities: Skylines and Farming Simulator 19. Who in the hell wants to play a game where the object is to build and manage a city and keep it's citizens happy by being able to lead a normal life or plough fields, grow crops, raise cattle or pigs to take to market. Playing payday 2 and metro exodus at the moment, great for lowering stress levels due to boredom.

Cities:skylines: Yes. I have wanted this game for a while just waiting for price to come down. Great can't get any cheaper, just bad timing.
Farming simulator 19 No: already have Farming simulator 17

@Commander91_YT Yes - after they gave up on the PSP which really wasn't a bad handheld and I have 2 of them, I gave up on Sony for handhelds. We can only buy so many systems and making us buy another complete system was bad form.

There's two sides to this
1. Yeah, people are bitter the leak was wrong and they didn't get the games they wanted, and that's fine
2. These are two games that were probably chosen to help destress with the whole pandemic going around, and while people are mad, a bunch of people already have these games, so they want to choose ones that have less downloads and not as much media attention so people get exposed to more games

What a cash grab. The crap Skyline game was free in 2016 (because I remember them wrongly predicting Pres Trump losing). I don’t feel like playing farming simulator, if I wanted that experience I’d go outside into a field and harvest various grasses and grains. This is one of the worst lineups I’ve seen and one of the worst times to have these horrible games even if they are “free”

@RogerRoger your right bud I have both consoles, when Xbox give out a big title it's because everyone who is going to buy it has it already, when PS release a big title its because our community never bought it in any kind of numbers and PS want to show the community, have a look this is a hidden gem, the majority of xbox live so called 3bees I already own 99% of the time on PS I would guess its around 60-70%, both platform should list 3 big/bigger titles and 3 indie titles then you can choose 1 from each if you own all the titles the money these company's would have received should be allocated to a registered charity of the gamers choice.
But they would tell you it would a logistical nightmare unlike me having to send an xbox x a month old to Germany to have it fixed, the opposite side of Europe to Scotland.

The issue with PS+ is its tendency to only really ever encapsulate games that are outdated and sell poorly. They could do it in any number of ways but this seems to be the way they usually go. It's basically a bargain bin which you aren't even permanently buying from. That's probably why people are so intensely frustrated. It's just beginning to feel like a broken system.

Nice to have something different for a change. I've never played anything like Farming Simulator before so I'll give that a go, and Skylines is in the maybe pile. Given that previous months have either been of no interest at all, or already played, I'd say this is the best month in a while.

I think PS+ works best when it throws up a curveball and you end up trying something you would never thought of trying before. Or something you were curious about but not sure enough to buy.

Admittedly, would have been better to mix it up a bit, eg have skylines last month and uncharted trilogy this month, but it's all going on the same (virtual) pile anyway so doesn't matter to me.

Last few months have been excellent, can't win them all.

No matter what games get put up people moan everything single month,I've seen people saying they where so hyped for dying light or dark souls well if you are that hyped buy it or buy them I have seen them in the store sales for under £10, people even moaned about the games they actually gave away to everybody it's unbelievable grow up and be happy for what is given some months maybe not as good as others but I think there is far more important things going on than the games that are free each month "FREE" rant over.

Gotta love entitled gamers. Getting over $1,000 worth of games a year for a minimum of $60, maximum of $120, and you sit there and whine about it.

I think May's selections are a bit lopsided genre-wise. And while I do think that there is a sense of entitlement in many of these comments, it isn't altogether unjustified. As much as it states that these are free games, they aren't. They are a perk that is part of a package of a paid subscription template, so for people to be disappointed by the games that they, if not getting them for free, at least receiving a big discount as part of the subscription package, should at least be entitled to expect a diverse pair of titles, not two titles that cater to one demographic.
That being said, I would personally have liked to have seen either one of these titles paired with Days Gone.
I am purposely not buying Days Gone because I expect that once I were to cave in and do so, it will be on the "free game" program the very next month...
Definitely far from the first time being inpatient about owning a game bit me in the end soon after.

THANK YOU SO MUCH SONY finally a lineup I'm absolutely 1000% happy with 😄 The last couple of months I wasn't to keen about the "FREE" games they had in the lineup but never complained like everyone is doing now. I haven't played any of them or just had a glimpse and decided nope nothing for me. It's always the taste of the individual if you like that FREE game or not and Sony will never please everybody but pleased me totally this month 👍

Look I agree that a month with two simulators is pretty damn crappy. I would have rather one of the two and another indie game or an older remake. To be honest I am really disappointed with this one... Not looking forward to Farmville or CityVille on PlayStation this month. My opinion of course...
