One of the best things about PlayStation 4 exclusive Days Gone is how its various systems can combine to allow for emergent gameplay experiences. In the embedded GIF – shared on Reddit by user BitterBubblegum – protagonist Deacon St John is shown using an explosive to both distract a human enemy and lure an undead crowd.
He then creeps up behind his foe, knocks him to the ground, and then walks away carefree while the Freakers find their prey. This clip was originally recorded by popular YouTuber StealthGamerBR, who’s amassed an enormous following doing cool things like this in various different games. I thoroughly enjoyed platinuming it and no wonder it sold so well despite the average reviews.
Game is easily a 8 or 9/10 experience.

@b1ackjack Yeah it's a skill upgrade. Sprint at an enemy and then press R2, I think. Haven't tried it myself yet.

Days Gone is in my pile of shame, however it is in the 'priority' section so hopefully I'll finally get stuck in soon.
I should probably repurchase this game and finish it...
I love the animation of the guy slowly crawling backwards in fear as the Freakers rush into the area. It's those little details that really help immersing myself in games.
Hopefully Days Gone will get more and more appreciated as time goes on.
Aw hell, I (and I'm sure many others) did a lot of things like that when I was playing. If I'd known it'd get me my 15 minutes on PushSquare, I'd have uploaded them all. 😥

@Paranoimia I don't know how some of these players clear these large hordes in under ten minutes. All my planning turns to brown messy stuff and I just end up legging it!
You can go back and whittle down a horde. Might not make entertaining viewing but if it gets the job done then so be it!

This was my game of the year last year, damn want to play it again now
One of my best early on moments was, I was heading toward a camp and heard freakers and then hid right outside the camp but had a clear view of it. The freakers made their way there and cleared it out for me. It was cool in that I had no interaction at all.

When I first saw the Gone in 60 seconds trophy, I thought OMG how the hell do you get that. But later on when your fully leveled up, so much fun. One of the best bike mechanics in any game 😎

Loved riding a bike again in this game. It's been many year since I was riding around on my KZ1000. I really hope for a second Days Gone.
This game is legendary. I just got it about a month ago and have been playing it everyday since.
