Assassin's Creed Valhalla is still in development and it's due to launch later this year on PS4 and PS5, but creative director Ashraf Ismail has revealed that he's leaving the project. "I am stepping down from my beloved project to properly deal with the personal issues in my life. The lives of my family and my own are shattered. I am deeply sorry to everyone hurt in this," Ismail wrote on Twitter.
Ismail was the director on both Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin's Creed Origins. He continues: "There are hundreds of talented, passionate people striving to build an experience for you that do not deserve to be associated with this. I wish them all the best."

This seems vague yet ominous. I can't imagine that he would be so abruptly saying that the team members dont need to be associated with his issues if it wasnt serious.
It seems it's because of infidelity accusations against him.
@Cornaboyzzz Yeah when I saw some stuff on twitter I thought this might happen.
Yeah that doesn't sound good... people's lives are definitely more important than a video game, so do what you gotta go
Yeah there's been like a whole new #metoo movement going on across the video game industry overnight
to people who don't know whats going on
cheating basterd...pardon my french...
that's it he is cheating even though he is married he is involved with another woman lied about it....
@Cornaboyzzz yup that's exactly what it is..
On a somewhat related note - not sure if you saw it or not - but former IGN editor Mitch Dwyer admitted yesterday that the whole Amy Hennig being forced out of Naughty Dog was fake and he was forced to put the false claim and his name on it from IGN heads no longer with the company.
I remember numerous news outlets reporting on it and Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley took a lot of ***** for it.
Was hoping you guys at PushSquare would help publish the info:

I'm not gonna definitively say anything one way or the other, because of a lack of evidence, but I will say this.
Don't cheat people. It catches up with you eventually, it always does. It's a sin that ruins your family, and God is watching you.
There’s been a big push recently in the industry and on Twitch. Basically, don’t be a douchebag and you won’t have anything to worry about.
Not too sure why people are so invested in someone cheating (even if that's true). There is a lot going on that leads to cheating and to be honest it's a minor thing compared to the grand scheme of things to commit.
@H4ilHydra. Thats crazy.hes cheating.and hes married.so this got to be something really bad.where did you hear this.word up son
Sad. The guy is awesome. Hope he solves his problems
@playstation1995 well here it is you will not like it. but thats truth for ya.

@LN78 Yeah, there’s been a few accusations across the wider community over the last few days and I think it’s making more people feel like they can come forward now. While this guy’s situation is more along the infidelity lines and therefore more personal, I think it still goes towards creating an environment where people feel like they can come forward. It’s not hard to see why some people wouldn’t speak out, the community isn’t exactly the most empathetic.
@zimbogamer As someone with a cheating scumbag for a father, it’s really not that minor a thing. It affects a lot more lives than just your spouse and can tear apart a family.
Let's start a campaign. Sad Wives Matter.
@nessisonett believe me my parents are divorced due to infidelity so I know what it can do. All I'm saying is there is usually more to the story. Maybe they grew apart, maybe something happened that lead to it etc it's a personal thing that outside individuals shouldn't care about too much.
I don't condone cheating, but it's really none of our business.
Even in this #metoo era, if it was two consenting adults choosing a sneaky path of infidelity, then, really, that's between this guy, his wife, and his mistress.
I don't blame him for stepping down to get his life straight, but the only person he should have to apologize to is his wife - not his co-workers, Twitter, or the gaming community.
Of course the usual holier than thou lot on twitter are already ripping him apart
@GamingFan4Lyf age of social media my friend especially in west everything you do reflects on company values... and we know ubisoft they have values this will bring more headache to them...
@H4ilHydra. Whos danny though.that was weird.word up son
@playstation1995 i dont know who she is from her twitter handle it shows she is twitch streamer of sorts.
@H4ilHydra ok i see it now.dani is that women.damn hes f👎uck up now.word up son
@LN78 Yeah, the link shared here shows actual texts from the guy towards the woman, he essentially lied about being married and so she’s outed him. I might not agree with her methods but I do think the wife needs to know, albeit not in this way.
Wow! Since when did adultery become a crime again?
Are we going back to full medieval law : no presumption of innocence, crimes of virtue, thought crimes, mob lynching, WTF!?
Soooo, not the director of Odyssey. Where is that guy/girl?
@Agramonte making gods and monsters.
Seriously guys, stay away from thots.
@jdv95 oh wow. I want that also - needs to stay there.
Well, Hopefully the main game is mostly finished at this point. Future DLC might be a hot mess.
Made what's going on, especially with zero evidence and dating back years in some cases. Society is definitely regressing is some cases, I'll judge when the evidence comes out.
@jdv95
Wait? The girl he cheat with is a CO-Worker?
@H4ilHydra That's his private life, how it equates to having lost his job is baffling.
@H4ilHydra Ask yourself honestly if the roles had been reversed would the woman lose her job?
The reasons are none of our business. Let's move on please.
