Whoa! Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time has now been officially announced. It's the first proper game in the series since 2008's Mind Over Mutant, and it sees a return to the original style of gameplay. In other words, this game looks to pick things up where Warped left them all the way back in 1998. Check out the debut trailer above, and you'll see what we mean.
Following the successful revival of the character with Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, It's About Time is a wholly original adventure. Starring a playable trio of Crash, Coco, and Neo Cortex, this new game once again centers around time travel. It sounds like Cortex will play the villain role once more, who has been spending his time plotting his revenge against the titular bandicoot.
What do you think of your first look at Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time? Are you excited to play this from 2nd October on PS4? Grab those wumpa fruit in the comments section below.

Not fan of the new design, but gameplay looks exactly like it should be !
Why does Crash look like plastic
Looks great, not sure about picking it up as a full price release but maybe down the line will check it out!
I love it. Really love what they're adding to the game, and I really like the redesigns.
Day one. That looks fantastic!
This looks great, plus the trailer is 60fps, important for platformers.
Will definitely have to wait for reviews, but will be keeping an eye on this for sure. I didn't buy the remake trilogy as I'm not really one for remakes, but if this turns out well, I'm in.
I think it looks really good. Convinced by the new designs after seeing them in motion
The song they chose was interesting cos it came out in the same year as Crash 3 so maybe it's here to again get the point across that's a direct sequel.
Well it would be rude not to give this a go
4 Crash 4 Furious
60 bucks at launch seems too much. I'll have to wait a bit.
Day one without a second thought.
Gameplay is looking fun. I'm very reluctant to buy an Activision game at launch these days, so I'll probably buy this some point after it has been released.
I still don't like the redesigns. I don't like the look of the "mask suits" either. Not really feeling it at all and I don't trust activision in the slightest.
Gameplay itself looks fairly good though at least.
I love the look of this. Seems like it will be more fun than Ratchet and Clank on PS5 imo.
That looks really good. I'm loving the retro revival of the 90's platformers. Count me in. Its about time indeed.
The trailer looked good. Probably end up getting this.
The legend is back.cant wait.word up son
Gameplay and aesthetics are very much reminding me of Ratchet... but that's no bad thing mind.
Love the joke at the end. How many times have you beaten this guy? 3 times. Feels like more than that.
Haha.
I know I'm in the minority but I'm not impressed with this style of game play in 2020.I guess to me it just looks like an endless runner. Like if Activision released this exact game first on mobile then ported it to PS4 everyone would be like "get that endless runner mobile trash off of my console".
Though I suppose it appeals to the same people who like 2D platformers like the new Donkey Kong games. This is basically a 2D platformer from a different angle.
I will say if I was interested it does look good. Good enough I felt the need to comment I guess.
Looks good, also lol at the end comment about how many time we defeat him already
Same old, same old, but with a more cartoony art style and designs. Hell no, I’m not paying 60 bucks for this. I’ll probably give it a try once it is in discount though.
Hopefully they will actually do something new gameplay wise…
Didn't play Crash before. And must say... Oh nooo... Again... Now I NEED to go and buy N'sane trilogy. 😂😂😂😂😂 hope it will be ps plus game of July.
Nice.
Did not care for the old rehash ports. But always welcome a new game in the series 👍
@__jamiie ..no way mate..
R&C is somewhere miles away..
..its 1st party, not this activion's junk..
Day One,this looks gorgeous and fantastic!
Think I'll go back and finish Crash 3.
Looks alright gameplay wise, I don't like how plastic and cutesey everything. If they called it something else or treated it as remake for the series then I wouldn't have a problem but to call it 4!!
Imagine we got a Dark Cloud 3 but it was made by some random developer with a stupid company name and the character are all claymation! This is what this looks like, also lol $60 for what should be a small downloadable title.
The ending of the trailer was totally a jab at Wrath of Cortex, Twinsanity, Titans and Mind over Mutant lol
@Bagshot No more of that, thanks.
@Bagshot Hi! Just to let you know your comment has been moderated because it really wasn't necessary. You're of course entitled to your opinion about other games but this wasn't relevant here and adds nothing to the discussion.
We didn't think this warranted a ban, but pleased don't do this again. Thank you!
This must be like Sonic Mania was for me, but for slightly younger gamers who grew up with PS1. Looks good, even though I was a Saturn owner, so don't really have the Crash nostalgia myself.
Day 1 for me personally. I feel like people are going to be turned off if the game is full price though. But I can see why it's full price, the budget for this looks much bigger than N Same trilogy. I'd love to see some form of split screen co-op implemented to give some even more value.
This one actually looks pretty cool and close to the OG trilogy!
Has anyone else noticed that the physical base edition of the game is $85 in Canada? I'm not sure if this a result of the current value of the Canadian Dollar, or a sign of what is to come for next generation games.
Heh, it looks like it will play exactly like those 20+ years old games.
They were nothing special back in the day, they'll be even less interesting in 2020.
Unpopular opinion, I know, but to be honest I never understood the appeal of Crash and his games: literally everything about them looks the opposite of memorable, from the gameplay to the characters and everything in between.
@Gremio108 exactly and I don’t know about you but I don’t like to be rude!
There’s life in the old do...bandicoot yet!
Day one buy. Looks like what I wanted.
I see the other titles that followed are no longer canon according to the comment at the end of the trailer about not beating Cortex more than three times--or perhaps because Crash 4 is set in 1998 those stories haven't happened yet like Twin Sanity?
@TheFrenchiestFry I still hope we'll get PC ports or remasters/remakes of those four spinoffs.
I can't be bothered hunting down decently priced physical PS2 copies of those games.
@dodjas I said in my opinion.
@Logmein That notion of yours that a studio isn't talented or creative anymore because they don't do the type of games you want is just moronic, you know that, right?
They have the talent, they just don't want to do that type of games anymore, simple as that...
@KidBoruto I would want Twinsanity for sure, and Titans is highly underrated.
Mind over Mutant is just really bad though lol
@TheFrenchiestFry I never got into the Mutant games, but would love to replay Wrath of Cortex and Twinsanity.
