Seriously, how has developer Hangar 13 managed this? Mafia: Definitive Edition looks absolutely amazing in this first, proper trailer for the PlayStation 4 remake. It may be a short but sweet one, but the world of the PlayStation 2 original is said to be redesigned to make driving easier and more manageable. Facial scanning and motion capture have also gotten an overhaul with rewritten cinematics to allow for better character development.
Mafia: Definitive Edition launches on PS4 on 28th August. Let's just hope it runs a lot, lot better than Mafia II: Definitive Edition. What a disaster that was. Are you hyped about the original Mafia game coming back with this remake? Avoid the cops in the comments below.

expected actual gameplay for a game releasing in couple months.
That they’ve managed to find a few minutes of good looking bug free cinematics doesn’t necessarily tell you a lot about the overall quality of the game. The other two also look good when they work.
The 'not actual gameplay' is a bit scary! I hope the game does indeed look this good!
I thought the first game was about Vito too?
Looks great. No doubt they'll mess up the gameplay
Looks aren't everything especially with how poor the 2 and 3 remasters are.
Looks good, let's just hope that it works well and the 2K account doesn't affect performance as it does in some games
Sorry 2K and Hanger 13, I'm not buying this. Mafia 3 was a crap show for bugs, and the Definitive edition still has fixed them. Utterly atrocious piece of shovel wear. I'd be too embarrassed to put the game on my CV if I'd worked on it.
As for the Mafia 2 remake? Good God it's even worse than Mafia 3. I think 2K are determined to kill the franchise. It's the only logical excuse for why they've allowed such buggy, hideous code to be sold. I honestly think the games are so bad Sony and Microsoft should pull them from their stores.
@AFCC Same here not a second of gameplay even less then the gameplay AC Xbox reveal... 😯
@SirAngry And when a small indie studio release something it takes months too get approved shamefull i know.
After the Mafia 2 remaster disaster, 2K account crap, and Mafia 3 downgrade, I hope this turns out alright. I had a bad feeling the Mafia 2 remaster would be a cash grab, but all they had to do was get this right and not make Mafia 3 worse. Mafia 3 always deserved better, I heard great things about the story. Shame they accidentally removed PS4 Pro support while managing to leave many long withstanding bugs. I hope their efforts all went here, but I'm not betting on it. Looks promising though.
@Vincent294 Mafia 3 has a good story and a spectacular soundtrack but the game is repetitive and it had a lot of bugs in its first 6 months (I uploaded four of them on Youtube). Trophy hunters were cursing a lot 'cause there were at least six trophies bugged (I was one of them).
Since Hangar 13 is the one working on this Mafia Remake, I would be worried for this game.
@vhsodre I also heard gameplay was repetitive, that and the bugs kept me away from it at launch. Then college took up my time. I want to believe Hangar 13 has gotten more time for this game from 2K and also became more experienced programmers, but it is not a good outlook. We'll tell soon enough.
Games this old need re-designed gameplay to not feel clunky and old.
Will be stupid idea if they forget about ps4, and no making more games after watch that trailer they need to keep more and more games for ps4 too! not just left ps4 to die!!! like they did with ps3!!! when ps4 was out. and they will do same exactly thing with ps4 with amazing graphic
PS4 is still alive and i hope re8 will be for ps4 too not only ps5 too bad
I thought this was out already and the overall verdict was 👎🏾
@outsider83 You're thinking of the Mafia II: Definitive Edition remaster.
