Sonic the Hedgehog and Streets of Rage are unquestionably legendary SEGA Mega Drive games, but when this author thinks back to the classic console, Crüe Ball is the release that immediately springs to mind. Inspired by glam metal band Motley Crüe, this was an arcade pinball game that defied the rules of the real bar room pastime. And it was brilliant.
Demon’s Tilt, due out on the PlayStation 4 from 28th July, is effectively Crüe Ball for an all-new era. The game has a heavy metal aesthetic and an ear-splitting sawtooth soundtrack, as well as a ton of modes for flipper aficionados. “Prepare to unlock the secrets of the Cathedral’s Dark Ritual and do battle on the leaderboards in Demon’s Tilt,” the PlayStation Blog teases.
We’re in!

I actually had no idea it wasn’t on PS4 already. It’s alright but I found that it was somewhat repetitive since there’s only one table.
Looking forward. ☺️
Reminds me of Devil's Crush on PC Engine, which is no bad thing.
Might have to get this!
Have it on Switch using a vertical grip, stellar pinball action!
Best pinball game I ever played was Dragons Fury on the Sega Mega Drive
Too many explosions and sparks and effects for my old eyes. I can barely see where the ball is going.
Had this on Xbone since it came out. As previously said, the retro influence is Devil Crash aka Devil's Crush aka Dragon's Fury. It plays kinda like a cross between a pinball game and a bullet hell shmup though.
Hahahaha, crueball? It's clearly a riff on dragons fury not crueball.
@Genejoke You're right, of course - the influence behind Demon's Tilt is obvious to anyone but Sammy. The sad truth is that Crue Ball is servicable at best (I'm being generous here), and isn't even in the same league as the sublime Dragon's Fury / Devil Crash MD.
I shudder to think of the continued Crue Ball references that will be foisted upon us should Sammy be the one to review Demon's Tilt.
Needless to say, Demon's Tilt is an insta-buy for me this week.
@Landstalker have you tried enabling trail?
Crue Ball? Not quite, it's clearly based on Devil Crash on the PC Engine. AKA Devil's Crush on the TG16, AKA Devil Crash MD on the Mega Drive, AKA Dragon's Fury on the Genesis.
I'm still waiting for a physical copy before buying it.
@AXEL314 That won't help. My old eyes just can't cope
