We have to say, DIRT 5 is looking pretty darn good. Taking the series back to its more arcadey roots, this cross-gen entry could be one of PlayStation 5's first great racing games. It's looking like a lot of fun in this new gameplay clip, which shows off a time trial event on a Stampede track.
The video shows how you'll be able to barrel through muddy, rain-soaked courses with big power slides while a thunderstorm booms in the background. And you just know it's going to handle well -- this is Codemasters, after all.
The PS4 version of DIRT 5 releases on 9th October, and owners will be able to upgrade to the next-gen edition for free. Are you excited to get behind the wheel of this one? Put your foot down in the comments section below.

At the fortieth second of the video it passes through muddy water without any interaction with the water...
Looking forward to this. Always enjoyed dirt on the ps3
@milanb I don’t know, it cuts to first person quickly after that? It’s definitely not in sync anyhow.
This could well be a launch game for me.
Love racing games like this and while Wreckfest scratched my itch for a while, I’m ready for something new.
@Boucho11 it's gameplay section clipped together hence the jump cuts, it's not just one clip.
I'll pick it up on the PS4 Pro seeing as you can upgrade free onto the PlayStation 5.
Looks great! Hopefully they have learned from last few games and the online portions are on point from the beginning.
