Well, this has certainly been a long time coming. From Bedrooms to Billions: The PlayStation Revolution, a documentary all about Sony's impact on the games industry, is very nearly here. We reported on it four years ago, when it was looking for Kickstarter funding, and now the two-hour film is due for digital and physical release on 7th September 2020.
In the meantime, we can watch this brand new trailer. It certainly looks like it'll be worth a watch; it features interviews with the likes of Jim Ryan, Phil Harrison, Mark Cerny, Hideo Kojima, Shinji Mikami, and lots of other key industry figures. It'll cover things such as PlayStation's early steps and how the brand has grown into the juggernaut it is today.
If you're at all interested in PlayStation's history -- and if you're reading Push Square, why wouldn't you be -- then this seems like essential viewing. The Special Edition even comes with extra features, covering topics like Net Yaroze, the making of WipEout and Gran Turismo, and more.
Will you be giving The PlayStation Revolution a watch in September? Get your popcorn ready in the comments section below.

This is interesting, of course I'll watch it
Definitely interested in checking it out one day, but TBH I don't think I'd pay for it, so hoping it turns up on Netflix or something eventually.
Will be interested to see how or if PlayStation/Sony get behind marketing the documentary.
Could be beneficial for them to push the story of the brand roots whilst heading into the next generation. Would be a nice homage to the past
Net Yaroze... takes me back...
Special edition? Why...lol maybe im being unreasonable but i dont agree with that really. Put it all in the same documentary.
PlayStation the 👑 g.o.a.t.word up son
I Kickstarted this.
Looking forward to finally watching it.
Will we get to see Nintendo plunging a Philips sized knife into Sony's back only for them to rise up more powerful than Nintendo ever imagined?

Wow, I completely forgot about this. Looking forward to watching it.
I've been looking forward to this for ages.
This looks great I am keen to get it, does anybody know where it can be purchased? The article states a physical release but I can't seem to find it online 🤔
I can find Bedroom to Billions but not the Playstation revolution one!
Sounds interesting - and quite the number of names being interviewed!
I loved to learn about the History of things I like or find interesting. PlayStation is no different and I will be ready to Learn more about my number one gaming platform this September!
My only question is where can I watch it?
Will it be available on YouTube or will I have to go buy it on DVD?
