There are occasions when publishers release trailers that fly right over our heads, and this is one example. We understand the principles of what 2K Sports is trying to tell us: PGA Tour 2K21 will feature authentic golf courses based on real-world data. But Terra Imaging boss Karl Engstrom is so enthusiastic about his job that we haven’t got a clue what he’s saying in this trailer.
From what we can gather, the company uses drones to capture data from the real-world courses, which developer HB Studios is then able to replicate in the game. There’ll be a bunch of real-world venues in the title, including the following:
- Atlantic Beach Country Club
- Copperhead Course
- East Lake Golf Club
- Quail Hollow Club
- Riviera Country Club
- TPC Boston
- TPC Deere Run
- TPC Louisiana
- TPC River Highlands
- TPC San Antonio
- TPC Sawgrass
- TPC Scottsdale
- TPC Southwind
- TPC Summerlin
- TPC Twin Cities
The game’s due out on 21st August, so you won’t have to wait too long to hit the links. Check out the trailer above for more information – if you dare, of course.

Missing a lot of great clubs. If they had Valhalla I would think about buying the game
@Cutmastavictory Assuming the create a course is still there, there should be a good representation of it.. Believe there were in the earlier editions.
Gimme a bit of TPC Sawgrass any day of the week.
Sure would like to see Augusta!
The create a course is so good that I’m fine with loads of courses being missing. I played a great recreation of The Old Course at St Andrews in last year’s game and it felt like an official course. It’s still a bit crap there’s no Pebble Beach, Bethpage Black, Augusta etc.
Same as others, disappointed lots of major courses are missing!!
What's not to get? The're just using photogrammetry to scan the courses and put them in the game. They've been doing the same thing for years.
@Icey664 Ok its a boring trailer. 😆
lol golfing game... right up there with skateboarding. I guess not all games can be awesome.... in amongst the great ones are gams like these
Hmmm... yeah, what's not to get?
Airborne, stereo photogrammetry and cinematography data are processed in a proprietary pipeline to create, hyper accurate, geospatial "real world" environments.
Applicable, for golf but also for DoD and military, combat simulation and visualization environments.

Is golf still a relevant sport in videogame world?
Not sure why many here are so quick to knock the game as being irrelevant or boring...It’s actually a fun game once you get into the mechanics with lots of strategy involved in online versus (as much as any other sports game), I play TGC2019 frequently and this looks to only build upon that formula.
I personally could care less about 2K’s involvement or VC coins as I place little thought towards my characters clothing/accessories and it’s not tied to personal progression. In terms of well-known courses missing, there’s a 99% chance that someone will publish one in course editor anyways
No official Augusta course? How can they recreate a PGA career without the US Masters?
Welcome to EA TPC Golf.
Meh...
Not a great selection of courses.
Think I'll pass.
Hmmm. Yeah, a lot of people here are talking like what he was saying could be understood by anyone. Sure, we all got the gist but exact meaning of all the terms isn't common knowledge. The intro comments were also hilariously slurred. Good stuff. Made me chuckle.
